Should I Mention This in My Saiga 12 Ad? BAD OMEN???

I've got a pistol that is xxxx51... I am religeous , 5+1= 6, it's on the frame, slide, and magazine... So 5+1, 3 times on the gun...

I will never understand the goofy superstitions that some people allow to influence their lives.

I agree completely. The stupid things people do because of some childish superstition. I have had 666 come up many times in my life and nothing evil ever came from it, yet... knock on wood...

I just want to be rid of the gun. It works great, but I am just a bit creeped out. One person here is right, I shouldn't attempt to make a profit off of the number, because it would be immoral. Actually, I just want to get rid of the gun, so I thought if mentioning it could help me get rid of it faster, then I would do so, only for that purpose. I would try to get back as much of my money as I can for the gun. The gun probably has not had more than 200-300 rounds put through it.
List it on Gunbroker; be honest with the reason why you're selling it. See what happens. I can't see any issues in making a profit on it as long as you're with clear conscience.

Strictly as an aside, I too would be a little unnerved by the number thing myself, but I'm thinking it has something to do with my 12 years of Catholic schooling. :D

No disrespect intended and granted I have had a few early NYE cocktails, but this seems like a silly thread to me (and I have been a practicing Christian for over 35 years).

-Happy New Year to All!

The last 4 digits in the serial number of my Colt 1911 are 6969. I sort of hope that means something.

religious superstition and guns .... make me feel unsafe.

But that might be just me.

If it helps, on 6-6-06. Me and my wife took the day off and went to the firing range.

I'd be more worried that you have no frickin' idea what your Bible says than whether you can get an extra $50 by mentioning that your serial number ends in 666.

I bet a lot of the "zombie apocalypse" types would love to have this gun, so yeah, I would play up the serial number in your ad.

The biblical number of the beast is 6 to the 6th to the 6th. It's an infinitesimally large number and completely different from 666.

I think you're over-reacting, but I've always been more worried about function than cosmetics.

Ok, as crazy as it is.. I am getting rid of this gun.. I am planning on buying a decked out converted to Ak specs, Saiga 12 shotgun.

Some may think I am superstitious and crazy, but many people may think religion, in itself, is superstition. It's all relative to the observer of the situation.

Sorry, but I feel weird about this gun.. For all the naysayers: this is a great deal.

My final conclusion is that I will not mention the Mark of the Beast on my gun and just sell it for a discounted price. Pretty good deal for a new gun. Since it doesn't mean anything to the other person who will buy it, there should be no problem for them. Since, it means something to me, it would not be a problem for me to get rid of it.

I will in the next week or so move this to the Ads section of the site. However, if anyone is interested in this gun, PM me with offers. I do also have an additional 12round 12ga SureFire mag I can sell with the gun.

Put a piece of tape over it. Silence the evil.

Besides, maybe your enemy or a thief will see it and steer clear. Sounds like a Saiga of doom if I ever heard.

Sell it on gunbroker for $666 with pics, have priest bless the gun before you ship and donate any profit made to the church. That way you get all your money back, the church gets some money, and since the gun was blessed when it left your hands your clean.

You need to find one with "777" stamped in all the right places. That way you'll be guaranteed that it's blessed by God and assures you're absolutely in the right if you have to shoot anyone with it and if they die they're sure to go to heaven. NOTE: To hedge your bets be sure to mark all your ammo with "777" also.

Since yours is evil I'll buy it for $200 and have a local priest exorcise and bless it so I won't have those worries. To assure this works I'll be sure do drink lots of sacrificial wine during the entire process. Ermm... I hope I can find a taxi driver that'll let me bring my S-12 in their cab.

JK!! :D

EDIT: Hah!! I meant "sacramental" wine... though it would indeed be a scrifice on your part!! :)

I have an M1 Garand with a serial number ending in 666. It was built in 1943, so it is quite possible that rifle brought some bad luck in battle, hopefully to the enemy, but it does not bother me one bit. The guy at CMP mentioned it as he was recording the serial number, I had picked it out of a rack of M1s. It was one of the nicest ones there, and made me wonder if others had passed over it because of the serial number.

To the O.P....

Well if portals to hell open up you could always play the live action version of doom...and look at the bright side...you'll already have the shotgun, you won't have to go searching for one in some secret area.

I'm going back to my corner now.

I have a saiga 12 and love it but also understand the 666 thang. I went to the DMW and they tried to give me a plate 666. Without too much fuss they gave me 667.

I'll buy it for $7.77, which should counteract the nastiness of the 666.

Sound like a good plan? :p

And hey, who am I to throw a stone, I have a certain talisman-thingy I take on long motorcycle trips for protection/good luck/whatever. You don't have to justify anything to anyone but yourself. (Unless it is illegal, but that is a whole 'nother story.:uhoh:)

I think he may have gotten rid of it already as the thread was dead for over a month guys.
