Picked up my 1997 Sig 220 .45 last night after the 10 day wait:rolleyes: What a fantastic firearm, all German, stamped slide,box,manual,2 factory mags and 2 Pachmayr mags. The Gentleman I got it from"thinks":D he fired it and he bought it new,it only has 1 smile on the barrel. It's Pristine!

What do you think of the Pachmayr mags? They look to be very well made and have stainless followers.

Enjoy

Hello-

I can't address the Pachmayr magazines, but the West German SIG-
SAUER P220 ought too be a fantastic firearm~!:) I know that I really
do like mine, and carried it daily in my offical capacity since 1988. I
don't think there is a better DA/SA firearm on the market. And to,
the original P220's (and Browning BDA's) will soon be a thing of the
past, as all the new SIG's have light rails~!:uhoh: :(

I also have a german P220. I don't know exactly how old it is, but it works flawlessly, except with worn out or non Sig factory magazines. A weak recoil spring also caused malfunctions when I bought it. (Its always a good idea to get a new recoil spring with a used gun.) As for Pachmayr magazines, I've never used them. If they don't jam up on you, they must be good.

I am a lousy pistol shot, but when I tried a well-worn p220 at a range I could keep them all on the target at 25 yards (which for me is saying something). I shot a box of hardball, and by the end of the box I could hit pretty well with it. It is very easy to be accurate with that gun.
Be proud. You chose an excellent firearm.

I just trade my way into a 220 several weeks ago. What a great pistol. Yesterday I had it out to the range. I'll post a report in a new thread--but it showed me enough to know you've got a good gun.
