Sig 226 vs 229 for every day CC

I own a 226, M11A1, and a Glock 19. I find the Glock much easier to carry than either of the other two Sigs.
And that is from a guy who really likes SIGs.

In my safe, the 229 gets more love than the 226s, including the X5. In California, San Joaquin county we are "allowed" to carry only 3 pistols on our license. My 229 is on the list, my 226 is not.
sorry about the restrictions though

I would recommend whichever one you prefer as far as handling goes, their differences in size are real but not a huge difference when it comes to concealing one. Personally I went with the P239 as it felt better in hand due to the fact i was cursed with small hands.

The 229 is too fat for my hand. It’s amazing how such a small difference makes to subjective feel. The 220 feels better than either to me.

I was shocked to determine the 229 with anything other than E2 or Legion grips (the fat frame one, not the slimmer older 229/228) was too fat for me too.

Especially since I consider a doublestack 1911 or Glock 21 a very comfortable gun in the hand.

I have both and love them both for different reasons. The 229 seems like a better carry choice because you get all of the good things both guns represent in a smaller, easier to conceal carry package.

No right answer here, personal preference. Maybe give them both a few weeks of test run and see how they do in your every day routine.

I've been carrying a 229 and a 220 for years. When my knees and back used to allow me to ride a motorcycle all the time I thought the SA/DA was best in of an off. They both are carry sized and use the same holster. (Very handy)

Great guns, different holes!

I regularly carry a P226 these days. I carried a W German P220 every day for 12 years. I briefly had a P229 .40. I really didn't like the P229 as much as the P220/P226. But that is just personal preference.

I have a P228, M11-A1, P6, and P239 and I’ve carried all of these at various times over the years. I have a P226 .40S&W, which is a good pistol but I prefer the other 9mm’s.
