Im planning on buying a spo p226 dak for 439. I was wondering if there is a list or parts kit to convert to sa/da? Ive worked on sigs and have 3. I am used to the platform. So changing the parts will be easy.

Not the question you asked, but if you haven't tried the DAK trigger I'd recommend giving it a try first...you might be pleasantly surprised.

I believe they still sell a DA/SA conversion parts kit. A friend of mine bought a CPO P228 w/ DAK trigger, sent it in and for $125 they switched it over for him.

P250 is DAO. Not quite the same as the DAK trigger. Haven't handled a P250 (it's on my list to try) so I don't know exactly how they compare.

I wasn't sure what I'd think of the DAK either compared to the standard SIG DA/SA, but I ended up liking it quite a bit. It's lighter than the standard DA trigger and has an intermediate reset point. I own both DAK and DA/SA SIGs, like them both for different reasons, can't go wrong either way really, but I'm glad I gave the DAK a chance.

From the Top Gun Supply website:

Parts to convert from DAK to DA/SA

Decocking Lever
Decocking Lever Spring
Decocking Lever Bearing
Hammer
Hammer Strut Pin (except P239 which is integral) *Note* Recently, #34280325 and #34280325N have been coming with the Hammer Strut Pin already installed
Hammer Reset Spring
Hammer Strut
Mainspring
Safety Lever
Sear
Sear Spring
Trigger Bar
DA/SA Grips with Decocking Lever cutout

The parts will run around $220. If you can get Sig to do the conversion for $125 as the one poster noted, that would be a steal.

DAK

The Sig DAK trigger system is the best trigger Sig makes, SAO is right up there too.:) Please give DAK a try, I did and fell in love with the trigger.

Gunsmith? Armorer?....

Are you a certified gunsmith or SIG Sauer trained armorer?
I'd send it to SIG or pistol wizard; Bruce Gray of Gray Guns.
If you plan to carry the pistol for protection or use it for home defense, you better be ready to explain to the lawyers/jury/cops why you modified the gun. :uhoh:

I for 1, prefer the DA only & DAK type systems. Investigators or prosecutors can't fabricate a lame case against you claiming you "cocked the hammer" or had a light trigger pull, .

Don't think it can happen? Review the Zimmerman court transcripts ;) .

Generally, if you were justified in using lethal force, it doesn't matter what modifications were made to the gun, when you're talking about criminal charges. If you weren't justified, or if there are some gray areas, then you may have problems.

The bigger concerns generally arise with civil suits, when the "victim" (who may, in fact, be a criminal) you shot comes after your property and income. Some states preclude that with laws that protect you in cases of LAWFUL uses of lethal force. That's the case here in NC, for example.

Civil suits are the real thing to be concerned about, not investigators or prosecutors.

Very well said, and VERY true..

I posted friend of mine had his DAO P228 converted to DA/SA by Sig for $125.. that was about 10 years ago, just checked and they charge $199.

I'd definitely send it to them vs buying all the parts..

Getting used to DAK is like getting used to a Kahr trigger, they're just different and not hard to get used to. Practice, practice, practice. :D

I've had two different SIGs with the DAK trigger. One, a used P226 wasn't great and wasn't bad. The other, a used P239, was downright grungy, and I traded it away. It could probably have been smoothed up, but got it in a trade and I wasn't so much interested in getting a P239 as getting rid of something else.

A friend had a DAK P-228 and that trigger was superb. It's what got me interested in the DAK triggers in the first place.

Update. The trigger is not that bad. Will take some getting used too. But the only im saving from leaving it dak, i will get a 357 barrel for it. I think its steal for 439.99
