I'd had my eye on a plastic fantastic 9mm for some time and I had boiled it down to the Glock 19, the M&P9 Pro and the P320. I am a 9mm fan, but shot primarily through a CZ-75 and recently a Kahr CM9. But, the high capacity but lighter & smaller than the CZ offerings were calling to me.

Walked into the base exchange on my AF base last week and saw the P320 Compact without night sights for $490...then 15% off on a one-day sale. So, it was around $100 off the Buds price, so I snatched it up.

First Impressions after a quick 75 rounds standing in rain/hail today:
- Medium lower fits me very well--perfect the way it is, much nicer than the G19 for me
- Love that trigger...easily the best OEM trigger I have shot
- No malfunctions, and that was with 25 rounds 124gr 9mm+P and 50 rounds weak-ish Freedom Munitions 115gr
- Accurate for a 3.9" barrel--hit a gong-like target 100-ish yards away without trouble
- Muzzle flip from the high bore axis was a non-issue
- Shooting +P was not bad at all--recoil was fine
- Darned fine gun that I think will get shot a lot--very happy P320 owner here!

My left handed son purchased a full size P320 in 9mm Luger with the medium grip and soon purchased and switched to the large grip. He enjoys the fact the magazine release is reversible. Now I am trying to convince him to purchase a caliber x-change kit in 45ACP. Nice firearm!

At the risk of hijacking my own thread, I don't think your son's full size 9mm can be converted into 45 ACP. Have to buy the whole gun for that, as the trigger group is different.

I am really hoping I can buy the full-size Target ex-change kit in 9mm or 357Sig when/if it becomes available. Then, one handgun for IDPA/IPSC and everything else!

I've had mine for about 4 months, and can tell you it only gets better. I've got about 3000 rounds through mine, and have yet to find anything that it chokes on.

Fired a friends today in 40S&W. Liked the gun OK but am not crazy about the caliber and since it cannot be converted to 45ACP, I'm not interested.

Regarding the trigger, it is OK. Best OEM ever? Any decent quality 1911 has a much better trigger so I can't agree with that statement. Perhaps triggers are like beauty and they are in the eye, or finger, of the shooter.

You have put 4K rounds through your P320 in 4 month, holy smokes, you shoot a lot!!!!!

P320 is a modular pistol, "Freedom to change calibers. size and fit" according to the SIG web sight. Nice trigger for a striker fired pistol, nice feel in the hand. That being said I have no need for one, I have the G19 Glock it has been flawless. Sights, magazines, triggers, springs, parts and accessories are everywhere. The SIG P320, not so much, mostly only available from SIG or a stocking dealer.

I haven't shot mine enough to say that I'm in love with it ... However, I've several years experience with both Glocks and S&W M&Ps, and I already know that the SIG P-320 has a far superior trigger to both. Mine (the Carry model) came with the excellent SIGLITE stock night-sights and it has the typical superb SIG ergonomics.

For what I paid, with 3 magazines and factory night-sights, combined with the great trigger and amazing pointability, I already have figured out that SIG has out-Glocked Glock, and at a significantly lower price -- including the night-sights -- than the comparable H&K offering -- I think SIG has a winner here.

Yeah, it's well on the way to becoming my all-time favorite plastic -- and striker-fired pistol.

Did I mention that my specimen seems substantially more accurate than it's peers, the G-19 and the M&P?

I got one in .357 and love it so much it's now my primary carry gun. I installed an Apex trigger and the new flatter take-down lever.

The .357 caliber in this gun is not harsh at all. I was waiting for the .45s to come out but decided to try .357 instead, and now I'm looking for a P229 Legion in the same caliber.

Calibers and frame sizes are completely changeable throughout the Sig P320 line. Check out the Sig website.

The fire control unit in the SIG P320 .45 caliber is not compatible with the 9mm, .40cal, and .357 SIG.

Compatibility across all calibers was what was promised, but unfortunately not what was delivered.

Anyone know the best place to get extra magazines for the P320?
Sig store, MidwayUSA, TopGun, Osage, etc.

Find the part number of the mag you want and just do a search with the number. For example, my pistol uses MAG-MOD-F-43-14 which is the 14 round .357 magazine.

Note that if you went with the 9mm gun; magazines are in short supply and will be for a while as Sig fills police dept orders. It'll get worse if the FBI decides to repeat their 9mm mistake using the P320.
