Sorry
I'm asking Gunny USMC.
His first photo seems to show the trigger guard contacting his knuckle.

Doesn’t hit my knuckle. I find that the original style grips tend to roll back into the hand.Sorry

I'm contemplating a Freedom Arms in the future in 44 magnum, or possibly a Colt SAA in 45 Colt, or maybe even a Ruger with some custom work. I appreciate the thoughts in this thread. I may rent a SA at my one local range to see what I like.
Another to consider is a BFR. This is mine in .44 Mag. In my humble opinion, there is no better grip frame in existence for heavy recoil (not that the .44 produces that much to start with), and something with moderate recoil like a .44 Mag is a pleasure to shoot with this grip. There's a lot to like about BFRs.

I don't have a photo of how I grip a single action revolver but I pretty much grip it the way I grip any full sized revolver. But I have large hands and the stock grips are to small for me also. I shoot a New Model Super Blackhawk 44 Magnum and with the stock grip the square trigger guard was tearing up my middle finger. I ended up putting the Pachmayr Presentation Grips on and it made the revolver a pleasure to shoot plus the larger grip fits my hand better. I like the looks of the stock grips best but much prefer the Pachmayr grips for shooting.

I have a 5 1/2” SBH with a round trigger guard and looked at those grips. They fit my hand like a glove but sadly won’t fit my SBH. I have a really ugly set of Hogue grips for it when I bought it but they don’t fit my hand very well.
This SBH has Pachmayrs that fit with round trigger guard. Sorry don't know model number of grips, but the're out there.
I always tuck my pinky under the grip for SA revolvers. I like the standard plow handle grips better than the Bisley. Ruger Blackhawks are very sturdy machines and can be found for good prices used if you're patient. I got my 6.5" 357 Blackhawk for $299 a couple of years ago. It's from the 1970's and had obviously been shot quite a bit, but it still functions perfectly. I recently got a 9mm cylinder for it, just for grins.
My FiL got a SBH with a Bisley grip just recently. Mine has the regular plow handle grip. Shooting them one after the other, I preferred mine. On the other hand, we were just shooting 44 special. Full-blown magnums might have given me a different opinion.
