As I understand, there are two lines of standard sniper rifles in the US Army/Navy/Marine Corps. They are relatives of Remington 700: M24 and M40 families, with the newest XM2010 and relatives of SR10/SR25: M11 Mod0 and M110. KAS M110 supposed to be fielded instead M24. But later M24 was developed into XM2010 and now we have two new rifles, this one and M110. Will they compete with each other for full scale fielding or will be used both by different services?

when i served from 05 to 2010 the m24, barrret, and m14 were all used. i suspect certain unit will use different systems cuz of cost. whether there would be bought in bulk who knows. the systems u mention might compete

Each branch fields different rifles, with the M110 and M24 being primary systems of Army snipers.

They will not be competing with each other for full scale fielding, as one (M110) is great for urban environments but falls short when shots over 800 yards become common. That is why the M24 is being converted to .300 Win Mag. It can take care of further targets, without having the firing signature of the Barrett when it is not needed.
