I hope it is ok to make an announcement. Some of you may recall the loss of our son, Elijah, in Afghanistan last December. Since then my wife has lost her job and life has been a bit rough all around for us as a result. I am beginning to let go of a number of my cherished revolvers, 1911's, High Powers, and lever rifles. Three or four at a time, beginning now on GB. A search for seller ZWolfgang on GB will bring you to the guns I am offering. Thank you for your interest. There are going to be some really desire-able guns in cherry condition coming up. A few are there now. Thank you.

DHart... I was not aware, my condolences to you and your family for the loss of your son. I'm very thankful for the bravery of your son's service to his country and our Constitution. Beyond that... words escape me.

I would love to bid on one of your beloved firearms, however, I too have been getting by on the "unenjoyment" checks since Jan. 01 of this year.

Blessings to your family as you walk the path to healing.

I also offer my condolences and thank your late son for his service.

It would be mighty nice if a few THR-ers (HighRoaders?) bought some items with a buyback option if your fortunes turned around later. If I was in the position, I would offer to do this for an item. That way, at least you could get some of them back at some point.

While not new here, I've been away for some time and was not aware.
My condolences to you and your family. I thank your son for his service. God Bless.

DHart - I did not know of your loss and my deepest condolences go out to you. The loss of a child is a terrible thing. I am sorry also for the certainly lesser but still painful economic losses you and your wife have undergone. I have always enjoyed your posts and your wonderful photography. You have always conducted yourself as a gentleman also. You are in my prayers. Those who purchase any of your handguns will be getting excellent examples of each breed. I hope and know that brighter days are ahead. Hang in there!

a parent should not outlive their child and no words can ease the pain.

Perhaps it helps to know that we appreciate men like Elijah that put themselves in harms way for us.

The loss of an honorable man is a loss to us all.

God Bless you and your family and God Bless Elijah.

You and yours will remain in my prayers.

Wow. Thank you all so very much for your kindness, taking the time to write, your thoughtful words and generosity.

A number of people have come forward offering to buy guns from me and allow me to buy them back in future if I wish. I am so thankful for those offers. There are some incredibly wonderful people in this online community that we share with each other. It does my heart good to hear and feel the friendship and compassion.

Like some other of the older folks here, I have been fortunate to be able to collect a nice number of really nice firearms over a number of years. It is time in my life to scale back and turn over some of these nice guns for others to have and enjoy moving forward. My plan is to keep a couple of my most favorite revolvers, a couple of 1911's, a couple of rifles, and a couple of shotguns. Fortunately, I can let some of my guns go and still be grateful and happy with a smaller, most meaningful collection for myself. So thank you to all who have offered to help with a "buy back" offer, but I think moving forward, I need to scale back in my older years and allow others to appreciate these great guns more than I will be able to. Take care, my buddies! And thank you all again for the friendship and compassion.

To My Friend: DHart-

Pardner, when I think of you I think of all those beautiful pics from the
firearms in your collection; a most enjoyable work with not only your
firearms, but the camera and lens as well. I too, hate to see you in
this situation; and if I were finanically able I also would offer to buy
all of 'em, with you holding the option to buy 'em back as times get
better for you and the family. May GOD BLESS you and yours in all
avenues of your life~! :)

Hey Ala Dan... nice to hear from you buddy. And thanks for
the online friendship over these many years! Strange how
quickly these years have passed, isn't it! We're got a wonderful
online community of some amazing and great people on these
gun forums. It's heart warming to receive the great response
and kind words. Thanks again.

DHart,

I was not aware of your family's loss. No words are even suitable. The closest would be those in the letter written by/for President Lincoln to Mrs. Bixby.

I feel how weak and fruitless must be any word of mine which should attempt to beguile you from the grief of a loss so overwhelming. But I cannot refrain from tendering you the consolation that may be found in the thanks of the Republic they died to save.

I pray that our Heavenly Father may assuage the anguish of your bereavement, and leave you only the cherished memory of the loved and lost, and the solemn pride that must be yours to have laid so costly a sacrifice upon the altar of freedom.

Yours, very sincerely and respectfully,

A. Lincoln

My condolences to you and your family. I hope things begin to look up for you and soon.

(On a side note, the PC 681 revolver is a beautiful piece. I hope it brings top dollar for you.)

Dhart - I grieve for your loss and our loss of a brother. May God rest his soul.

As far as selling guns, if it's for financial reasons, it may be too personal but make sure you look into whether you were listed on his Servicemembers Group Life Insurance (SGLI) or DD93 or are part of his death gratuity or listed in his will. He may have left you a sizeable chunk of money to help with your finances. Also check with his unit S1 or the VA for any other financial assistance for which you may be entitled.

I pray for your family.

Edited to add: PS- after writing the above, I checked out your link. That's a fine GP100 3" and if it doesn't sell please let me know. I love the GP100 and would be interested. Thanks.

DHart-Unfortunately right now I am financially unable to purchase any firearms but I do remember the thread about the loss of your son & You are in my prayers.

My sincere condolences, and a sincere thanks for your family's service and sacrifice. Prayer said for y'all.

When Elijah deployed he told his mother that a portion of said benefit would go to her if something should happen. Not anticipating what has transpired, my wife told him not to worry about us and just have the benefit go entirely to his new wife. So that is where it has gone and she is not of a mind to share any of it with anyone else. Sorry to get so personal, but it came up, so there it is.

Well that is really crummy of her.

I have many folks listed on my policy - the S1 always glares at me for having so many folks named but I want to ensure folks are taken care of if the worst happens. For your sake I wish Elijah would have had an S1 or JAG suggest adding his parents in some capacity.
