Cool, guess we coulda gone out, dang weather! Threaten and then not do anything, oh well. Two weeks!

I should have all my SKS parts together by then too.
Does anyone know how to fix a crack in a stock right behind the receiver? it's like a small peice of wood directly behind it has almost popped out (it won't come completely out). Just some wood glue and plenty of time?

The Curio and Relics Forum mentions using Gorilla Glue.
An article at Surplus Rifle talks about fixing severe cracks, which it doesn't sound like you have.
So sounds like try the Gorilla Glue, and some sort of sleeve/shrink wrap to keep it in place while it dries, and it should be okay.

Hmm.. didnt' think of that. Good idea though. I'll look into it. It'd be a shame to have to toss out the stock my grandpa killed many a deer with for decades...
Then again, those Choate fiber stocks look pretty nice... but I think Grandpa would reach down from heaven and slap me on the back of the head for that...

I dunno... I'll give them two days to fix it and send me the right peice, otherwise I'll give negative feedback. I'd rather have the parts I paid for than give negative feedback...

I emailed them around 4pm when I got home yesterday right when I noticed it yet, which is 7pm in Brooklyn, I beleive. When I first emailed them about having won the auction it was a Friday morning and they didn't hit me back until Monday afternoon... so I'm guessing it will take them a while. If I don't hear back by the end of the day, I'm calling them up.
They better not do something like "We'll send it out as soon as you send us the wrong one back," because that would be annoying as hell. I'm a college student, I'd shoot an AR or FAL otherwise... or DPMS Panther...

I called them just now and they seemed very apologetic. He said he'd send out a new one as soon as possible and I should send back the incorrect one when I can... which will be Friday, my payday, at soonest...

What exactly are they going to do with that piece?
You should have told them to include a check for the shipping cost for that piece...

Hahah... damnit, I didn't even think of that. The three bucks it's going to cost is well enough to get this whole situation over with... I'm not sending it back until I get mine, and maybe still I'll call them up and have them pay me for shipping or send it COD...

After we're done on Sunday, I don't know if I'll be able to have y'all over to my place. I can explain more on Sunday, but it looks like I'll probably a bunch of work to do around the house this weekend and pretty much every weekend, plus some evenings after work, for the next month or two. Whether and for long I can host you guys will depend on what and how much need to be done. It would be nice to be able to kick back with a beer and BS for an hour or three with y'all after we're done, so I'll see what I can do, but no promises.

Im gonna bring a folding table and some chairs. Also gonna load a cooler full of water and soda's.
Gonna make a couple of home made target stands today as well.
Got a rake, shovel, and a trash can for the crap laying around out there.
Anyone got one of them old real estate signs that we can put out by the turn off?
I plan on being out there around 0700 to clean the place up.

I have a box I could put out there, dunno how much a brown box will stand out though.
Got a rake, metal rake, and shovel.
Got my steel target, not sure how well it will take rifle rounds, but I have old pans for that, should be able to stick them in the ground pretty good.
Gonna get the cooler with some water too.

And cidirkona, don't forget your shotgun so you can test the Winchester loads and see if they are worth buying for $5 or something.

Bleh, well, I just can't make it. A couple minor things coupled with the fact that it's in Tucson and early in the morning. Would have been a different story if my buddy was still coming, but he's in the white mountains ATM. Anyway, you guys should all move closer to Phoenix.

If it is just the three of us out there (you, your buddy, me) I doubt we will be done by 9AM, maybe this will have to be a multi part clean up? We can start, do a little each time we go out.
