Hi there!
I've been thinking about purchasing a SpeedFeed III, IV or IV(short) series SG stock and forearm set for My 870. What's Your take on the SpeedFeed stocks?
Also, I'm looking at buying it from "Arizona Gun Runners". Anyone here have any experience with this outfit?
Thanks :)

I like Davis' products a lot, but personally I don't care for pistol gripped shoulder stocks on shotguns. I grew up with conventionally stocked pumpguns and the PG versions just never feel right to me. YMMV of course.

I prefer the Speedfeed I or II, both are very beefy and rugged. I use the magazine tubes in the Speedfeed I to hold slugs and leave the Sidesaddle for buckshot.

I don't have any experience with Az Gunrunners, I'm afraid.

Stay safe,

lpl

I have the Speedfeed standard short stocks on both of my 870's. I think they are a much stronger stock than the factory synthetic. I do not like pistol grip stocks either.

I have bought from AGR on a couple occasions with every thing going smoothly.

I just traded away a SpeedFeed IV stock for a Remington Police wood stock set. The SpeedFeed was an impulse buy. I gave away the fore end because it didn't fit to my satisfaction (too much play) and it was too small for me to get a comfortable grip. It only took 5 rounds for me to decide I hated the pistol grip stock! Something about the grip angle was 'funny' to me. I never felt like I ever had it securely shouldered as opposed to a standard stock. YMMV.

PS - I bought pistol night sites from ArizonaGunRunners a while back. Their price was fair and service was fine. They shipped promptly.

I prefer pistol grip shoulder stocks for "danger close" index (produces less strain on my firing hand wrist), and for commonality of gunhandling technique with my AR.

I use both a Speedfeed stock and Side Saddle on my 870. The Side Saddle is more efficient to use for shotshell manipulations than the Speedfeed, so for all intents and purposes, the Speedfeed stock is simply there to increase the amount of ammunition immediately available to me, should I need it.

The Speedfeed stock also wears the mouth crimp of the shotshell, so you'll have to rotate fresh ammo though it on a frequent basis.

Cheers!
