I stopped by there yesterday just cause I was bored and had nothing better to do. Turns out they're closing the doors for good 1/31. Firearms are about 10% off of sticker price, but they're only selling what they have up front, everything in the store room is going out to other stores. I couldn't resist a SW1911 for $700 so I picked it up. They still had a ton of shotguns and rifles available as of last night, and a few dozen pistols as well. I don't know how long that will last, 5 people bought guns in the time I was standing at the counter. Hurry up and get yourself in on that action!

If they were to shut the Memphis store I'd be in trouble. Don't know where I would go then.

I hit the Sportsman's Warehouse on the afternoon of the 1st as well. Picked up an S&W M&P45 and saved a hair over 10%. I figured it would save a trip and admission to the gun show this weekend. I think they were pulling the guns after a few days and not waiting for everything to sell.

Probably between 3 and 4pm. I checked out with two other people. You must have been the guy who asked me whether or not you should buy the S&W1911 style gun that was like $80 or so off. I think the 3rd guy at check out had a taurus or something. I'm planning on breaking that bad-boy in at DFW Gun Range during the weekend. Had been planning to go to Market Hall, but given that purchase it kind of seems pointless.

I had heard a rumor about them moving to Denton (maybe on Shotgun forum). I mentioned this to a guy behind the gun counter and he said that was the old plan. The new plan is that they are just going out of business instead of "moving".

This stinks. But, so does getting to their Lewisville location. However, I will be heading there this Saturday (soonest I can).

Small world. Yeah that was me.

FYI - Supposedly they stop selling firearms Wednesday at closing time. I'd call before you waste gas making the drive unless you are looking for clothing or camping gear.

Weird, wild stuff.

I sure would miss the one up my way closing. Will have to ask about it next time I'm in there. I don't expect them to close my store as there is limited big retail store competition in my area. No Bass Pro. No Cabelas. No Acadamy. But we do have a Dicks. I noticed Dicks sold off all their ammo at my local store. Maybe they are getting out of the ammo business?

That is awful! SW in Lewisville in the only place in my area to get powder and when they have it - primers.

Where in the North Texas area is another good place for powder and primers?

Paul
