Garandthumb on YouTube has a pretty good review on the sa-35. He had problems with the finish and extraction at 800 rounds. But other than that it was a faithful reproduction of the original, warts and all.

The SA-35 is the covergirl on the latest (Dec 2021) American Rifleman that hit my mailbox today. Nice review by Justin Dyal, a shooter who owns several Hi Power, including MkII and MkIII.
He put the new SA-35 slide and barrel on his MkII and they fit perfectly.
He likes it.
My favorite passage is in the middle of the article:
I have extra-large hands, and I grasp pistols as high as possible, leading to hammer bite with many other designs. With the Springfield, I was able to fire more than 200 rounds in a session before the skin broke and my hand became somewhat uncomfortable.

He did a really good review.
He seems very honest. I hope people keep sending him guns.

Buy American Act — Requires that a product be manufactured in the U.S. of more than 50 percent U.S. parts to be considered Made in USA for government procurement purposes. For more information, review the Buy American Act at 41 U.S.C.
No sure if the FTC enforces it, or if it would apply here, but that's the statutory definition for government purchases.

That statute doesn’t apply here at all.

thanks for the clarification, what statute does apply here?

I reckon I forgot to take off my dumb azzz shirt today. I’m lost here. Please explain like I’m a 5 year old.

The FTC rule should apply here.

The FTC rule doesn't have anything to do with the Buy American Act.

The Buy American Act applies to Govt procurement and the criteria of what is considered American goods is not the same as the FTCs.

As an aside, Merry Christmas

This only applies to things being bought by the Federal Government, so it would only apply if the FBI were going to purchase a few thousand for issue.

(And BTW, you can get waivers under certain circumstances)

Two Federal rules are in play here, 1) the ATF's requirements for marking firearms or frames imported into the US, and 2) these rules.

Intrigued by it but I've been burned before buying newly released firearms. I'll give it 12 months at least. Hopefully it is almost identical to the original except the mag safety.
