Does anyone know if Springfield has changed the features of the "Loaded" models over the years?

I have a Stainless Loaded fullsize that I got a couple of years ago. It has an ambi-safety, Novak sights, and the guide rod takes and allen wrench to take it apart.

Last night my Brother In Law picked up a used "Loaded" Parkerized version here locally. It did have the Novak sights. however it did not have an ambi-safety and the guide rod takes a regular screw driver to take it apart instead of the allen wrench.

This was strange to me. I thought all of the Loaded models were the same other than some came with night sights.

Whatever the case it was a sceamin' deal. I actually found it, buy did not have the money so I told BIL about it. Should be a nice shooter.

They have changed quite a few times actually.

I've got one of the very first loaded models. The grip is shaped a little different, kind of bulgy in the front strap. It has edges so sharp that you can cut yourself. :) And it came with a stupid guide rod that required a flat head screwdriver to remove. That said, it shoots dang good.

The next loaded that I came across was a lot more rounded, and the grip was shaped more like a traditional 1911. I can't recall what kind of guide rod it had.
