I had not even thought of that Wally! Yes your right it does have a protruding firing pin and should not be carried with a round in the chamber, if dropped or hit on the hammer it'll fire. Maybe cocked and locked with safety on would be okay but I wouldn't chance it.
So is this why the "smear" or drag on the primers tends to show up in Tokarovs, from the firing pin being in contact with the primer at hammer down?
