Starting a NJ based FFL from Home

I have been considering getting a home-based ffl as well. I have a few questions about some of the things I have read.

#1 Do you have to have an alarm system? There is someone hear about 99% of the time. I also know that in my area, an alarm system is going to do much good anyway.

#2 Do I have to have a separate safe for the ffl business? I have a large safe that I use for my guns, my anticipated volume would be a few transfers a week, so I have enough room for another 15 long guns and numerous hand guns. I actually don't anticipate a transfer every remaining overnight with me.

I've already got my LLC, retail tax certificate for my public safety supply business. This will be in Kentucky.

Not per ATF.

If you wanted to just use your current safe, then just log your personal firearms into your bound book and sign them out to yourself.
