Effective immediately, STI International has halted all shipments of firearms to California. The company will no longer sell any firearms to civilians or law enforcement in the state. The move by STI comes after Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger signed microstamping legislation into law. "This law is not going to stop criminals, it is only going to hurt law-abiding citizens in the state," STI's Pauletta Skinner told Bullet Points. "We felt like we had to take a stand against this law."

Kudos to STI!!!

Thats nice and all, but does STI even have any government sales? I applaud them, but I don't think its quite the same level as what Barrett did.

Regardless of there sales to government agencies and such, it is more to make a point. I am glad that some of the people that can make a pretty big difference are stepping up to the plate on issues like this

So the question I have about all this is, and don't get me wrong I think it's great, what about their distributors?

It is my understanding that not one LE agency in California has gone without either Barrett parts or service, they just have been doing business through the distributors at a higher price.

I'd love to be proven wrong on that one, but from what I've read it has had little real impact.

Thats awesome, the best part about all of this is that they are ALSO refusing to sell to LEO, which is going to hurt the LEO's in the end if enough firearm manufacturers do this.

Thats two manufacturers, does anyone know of any others?

I sort of like the idea, but isn't this what the government wants, no guns sold in California?

I understand that not selling to law enforcment might anger the government, but they will be happy no civilians are getting guns from them either.

now we need SW or Colt to take this same stand... fat chance right. the moneys in the .gov sales, and SW or Colt arnt going to bite the hand that feeds them

but they will be happy no civilians are getting guns from them either.

even if in a magical mystical land, where no legal guns meant no guns at all. the gov would slowly loose thier own guns. and at that point they loose control. the gov only exists to exist and will do what they need to ensure thier existance

I live in CA and I think that this is a great supportive move, too bad neither of these companies really have much if any State/local sales.

If we can get S&W ,Sig, Beretta & Glock on board, then the microstamping law will fall apart.

It'll only help if they, like STI, refuse to sell to LEOs as well. If they still sell to LEOs but nobody else, the CA legislature will do a little dance.

STI dominates high-level IPSC, which is still fairly popular in CA with lo-cap mags. This will affect some folks.

The point is to anger the Voters into changing the leadership there...
If the voters weren't angry already then there's something wrong with them.
They arent yet..look who they voted into office. Pelosi...Feinstien... yikes.

IMO, the number of socialist happy voters greatly outnumber the number of angry voters in California and will head further into that direction in the future up to the point the Chinese start landing forces on their shores (which, IMO, probably won't happen, but if it does, the voting emotions will change).

STI isn't even on the california safe gun roster so they can't sell handguns to anyone besides leos. So I would say their statement really means nothing because I really doubt there are any agencies in california using their guns. Mark
