Why do you have a problem with the term "Gun Collector" ?
Exactly. Collections must have a theme; otherwise, they're just accumulations.Collections mean nothing until they've been properly identified, researched and archived.
I have never heard of a US state limiting the total number of firearms you can own. Can you name one state with such a law?
Hey I have a theme. They all have at least one barrel.Exactly. Collections must have a theme; otherwise, they're just accumulations.
The danger in boxing ourselves into an official "collector" category is that eventually someone will come along and try to supervise our collecting activities. I can see them trying to license collecting in such a way as to exclude mere accumulations. You'd have to register your collecting themes, submit annual reports, etc., etc.
Don't laugh. The antigunners have no lack of imagination.
So what was the point of this thread? The 2A is about keeping the government in perpetual fear of the people, not collecting guns or "enjoying the shooting sports". Collecting guns is fine of course, just like collecting cars or stamps, but it doesn't really have much to do with the 2A or the "gun rights" that the 2A is talking about.Wow, I'm really disappointed in how many negative responses there has been to something as simple as being a Gun Collector, I've been to many Gun Shows over the years and met a lot of great Gun Collectors and fellow N.R.A. members. So in this forum I expected to see more positive responses, for those of you that seem to take offense to this, relax, we are all here to share our enjoyment of Shooting Sports, no one here is trying to threaten your Gun Rights.
