Till I get a better mag clamp, I am leaving the magazine off. Promag mag clamps (what was I thinking?) do not like being taken on and off all the time for barrel swaps and is both a pain and they get marred up easily and messes up the sling point. Just sit back and enjoy that fine bluing and wood.

Mossberg 835 Ulti-Mag with the overbored and ported barrel, Black ceramicote, +4 mag extension (10+1 of 2 3/4, 8+1 3 1/2)

Mesa Tactical stock adapter, Magpul MOE 6 position stock, Hogue pistol grip...

Here's a quick pic of mine, just finished (mostly) the conversion about 20 mins ago. Still gotta get an HK rear sight to weld onto the dust cover.

Local GS called Greentop Sporting Goods has good one for $269 if anyone is interested. It's early 60s 12ga Ithaca 'Deerslayer' with 26" barrel, sling swivels, sling, receiver tapped for peep sight, plus Ithaca pad. Ithaca called this 'Super Deluxe Deerslayer' . Oh one also gets Made in Sweden Aimpoint 1000 electro-optical sight that still works fine after about 20 years. One can not go wrong with that gun. It is far superior gun to most (NOT ALL) posted on this thread.

Here's a better pic for you:

Very nice indeed!

I posted my Saiga earlier in the thread and could not be happier. Have you stuck to any one particular brand of mags? Of course, I like the factory 5&8's (took me a bit of time to get my hands on the Izhmash 8 rounders) as well as the Taiwanese ones which cycle quite well for me. I did not buy the drums as I was initially very tempted to do only because I tend to use some 'unorthodox' ammo which I am sure would jam the drum--not a derogatory criticism of the drum as they are upfront on their website concerning what ammo will/won't work with their product.

I forgot to mention the AGP's which after I swapped out the springs work great for me.

I haven't fired it yet myself. It has had 20 rds through it according to the previous owner, and the internals looked like it. Obviously now it's got all new internals (aside from the bolt and carrier) including the piston (which was used for compliance in sporting config with US mags), but all I've got are the factory 5rd mag and an SGM 12rd mag and both of them hand cycle perfectly. I probably won't have an opportunity to fire it until new years.

To be completely honest, I haven't fired ANY of the long guns I currently own, and only two of the pistols I currently own. To be fair, I've had a complete collection overhaul recently... All of my long guns are russian designs (saiga 12, saiga 7.62x39, SKS, mosin/nagant M44) though the SKS is chinese. My pistols are a mix ... a Colt 1991 Commander (steel), a RIA compact 1911 and a G26. I'm looking into replacing the .22 I recently sold now.

Interesting collection--Just out of curiosity, why not shoot more often (not to be nosey;)?

-Cheers

1911 grip panels, with a wooden stock, but a railed forend.

Looks like something out of the Resistance: Fall of Man series.

That's meant as a good thing, BTW :D

Mostly the cost. Food has become more important lately, though with the current legislative climate I've decided that it's a little past time to start stocking ammo and TP.

I carry a 1911, and I love the feel of the grips... They're on both of my AK pattern guns (Saiga 12 and Saiga 7.62x39). I had a set on my mossberg before I sold it, and I had them on both of my AR-15s before I traded them. They just feel right.

I only put the rail on because it looked better than the stock handguard and I got it in trade for a crappy holster that I didn't like, but cost me WAY too much. Honestly I'd prefer a wood handguard, but I can't afford one for the S12.

I hear that--It ain't as easy as it used to be (I know I'm getting older when I begin to sound like my Dad), that's for sure. Do like me and just keep plugging away.

My new 870

I made the same weave style sling for this except its not doubled and goes to a single point configuration with detach swivel studs drilled into the stock. I almost made it completely flush with the bottom but while i was drilling, it didnt feel like had had any room for error so i stop there. Off the subject, how do I post the giant pictures instead of posting them like this?
