Hi all,

I am new to this forum, I am a full time custom knife and sword maker in New Glarus Wisconsin. I hope to learn and share as much as I can.

Here are just a few examples of my work. A lot of my customers for these tend to be active military special forces and law enforcement.

Thanks for looking,

Are these really being carried in combat? I bought one similar for my son but don't know if he actually carries it on missions or if it would even be allowed.
They are cool and yours are world of art.

One of the preferred weapons of a few hardcore SF guys is a tomahawk. I know some fellas that would take these on missions. Nice work.

Very nice work there! The Abaddon appeals to me, I've gotta say....

Evil question tho it is, about what would the cost of such a beast be?

Retracted question: Found the prices!

Nice work and welcome to THR. Good to see another former Explorer here.

I particularly like this piece -

When I first saw this thread I thought to myself "yeah, right", but since going to the site you can remove any hint of sarcasm from that thought. Beautiful work!

Welcome John.

Another vote for the Gladius. I also went to your site, AWESOME work.

Those are cool blades, and I'd like one.

Just don't expect them to be actually carried in combat. In fact, some commanders have forbidden carrying any fixed blades, much less a honkin' sword. I caught some flack for carrying a knife with less than a 5" blade in OEF.

I love manual weapons, and have spent thousands of hours training with them. There's a reason we carry firearms, and the modern soldier's load is too heavy already without a few extra lbs of steel. Do your history- huge short-sword sized bowies were abandoned all along the paths Confederate armies traveled. This was back when a few bayonet charges were actually held because of lack of ammo. I never saw a bayonet mounted during over 10 months in the combat zone.

No real room for a sword.

I appreciate the comments and the kind words.

The swords that I have made for military personell have been for select units of SF. they have told me they will be carrying them in combat, so I am going by their word.

John will make a FINE addition to THR IMO......
