Greeting all. Recently I started shooting 50 ft. indoor silhouette on paper targets. The Turkey and rams are pretty small. :( The rules call for the firearm to be a tube fed .22. (no Magnums) Most use a lever gun with some cheaters using old tube fed bolt target rifles. Others have mounted target sights on their lever guns. The game is shot while standing.

I am currently using a Winny mdl 250 which has partridge sights. (the square ones) I have a dislike for bead sights which comes on most .22’s. The 250 shoots most brands of 22 OK. I have not tried match .22 some guys are using. The sight picture is not fine enough. Of course more practice is desired but the indoor range is an hour away. Finding an outdoor range is problematic this time of year.

I have a very pristine Winny 9422 XTR which I would love to put some target sights on. I am considering the Williams peep sights that attach using the receiver grooves. The problem is finding a post front sight or globe sight that will fit the small dove tail on the front sight ramp.

Since the 9422 is in such good shape I hate to do anything permanent. Like drill holes for side mount sights or holes to install a tang sight.

I also shoot cowboy silhouette. Here I use a Marlin 94 CB II in .357. I have aperture rear sights with a globe front. Works great if I do my part. It's like shooting a giant BB gun. LOL.

Any and all advice/experience is welcome. Thanks in advance Tim

OK I think I have figured out the rear sight set up but still working on the front. Thanks in advance for any direction.

Small dovetail? Is it not the usual 3/8"? If it is 3/8", fit a Lyman 17 globe and get a card of Lee Shaver inserts.
If not, is the sight ramp not screwed on? If it is screwed on, unscrew it, screw down a Williams ramp, insert globe.
If it is not screwed down, you are, well, screwed.
