Taurus TH45 Just Released

Does anyone know if it uses the old Para Ordinance mags? The Sar K2 .45 does.

The TH series mags have the slot for the catch in the center of the front face. The K2 has the slot on the corner so they won't work as is. If they are dimensionally the same size they would work if you cut/milled a slot in the proper place. My TH45 is supposed to arrive tomorrow so if you want me to measure the mags and take some pics of the follower for reference I can.

Has anyone shot a Taurus TH series pistol. I am curious about the trigger pull.
I have not but every reviewer I've watched/read says it's the typical Taurus trigger as I stated earlier in the thread. Even Taurus claims their trigger is designed for combat and not match quality.

I've only ever owned one Taurus. It was a Millenium Pro PT 111 G2. I parted with it due to dislike of a couple of things. One of them was the trigger. I really didn't like the sproing sensation. I don't feel every firearm should have a glass rod 1911 trigger but I would want to dry fire one somewhere before I bought.

Yeah, I have a G2C and while overall it's a great little gun the trigger is less than stellar and what I passed on about the trigger is what Taurus claims. I know if I want a match grade trigger then don't expect it on a Taurus. When I first bought it the trigger was a little gritty but it has improved over time.

My TH9 has a DA pull of 10ish pounds and SA is at or just under 5. My TH40 has a 9ish DA and about 5-1/4 SA. DA on both is smooth but they do have a distinct "click" at about the mid pull point that you can feel and hear. I believe that click is from a hammer block and some report it as gritty but I don't even notice it at the range. SA on both has about 1/4" of take-up then a bit of creep before a surprisingly clean break.

Thank you! I had watched a review. The reviewer made some less than complimentary comments about the trigger. I immediately though about the PT 111 G2 I had & how much I disliked it's trigger. I would like to dry fire one. Not saying I'm running out to buy but I find myself kind of interested. Most DA/SA hammer fired options are more expensive.

Give me a hammer and a decocker. Put a safety in it? Means I will NEVER buy it. I don’t buy pistols with safeties on them. Taurus has just started offering some of there other guns without safeties finally. Maybe, just maybe, they will smarten up and give us a version of this pistol without a safety. Like a P220/P226 clone almost.

Ain't it great that not everyone thinks like you............ I guess that's why many brands offer manual safeties........

1911 pistols have come with frame-mounted manual safeties since …… well, 1911. o_O

Just takes some dudes longer than others to get that.

My Taurus plastic pistols have all had the sproingy trigger... until I bought a GX4. I have 32acp and 45acp versions of the Millenium because of the size and caliber, despite the gnarly triggers. The trigger on the GX4 is crisp and pleasant.

I'm buying one as soon as I can locate a dealer that has them. Why? Because I like the look and I want a .45 that I don't worry about getting banged around. The G3 and TX22's have proved that Taurus can get it right. Trigger not great? I'm not looking for a gun to make points at the local matches. If I get a gun that put's a respectable group in the CNS on a target at 25 yards I'm happy. At $450.00 or so how bad could you get burned?

I had read that the GX4 uses a different design for the trigger. I might be wrong but I don't think it has the second strike capability (not important to me anyway).

It's kinda funny but I don't want this one, I have a goodly number of 45s and 9s so I'd much rather have the TH40. Maybe at some later date as I just ordered the G3c in 40 S&W.

Picked up my TH45 today. Nearly identically to the 9 and 40 with the exception of the sights. The 9 and 40 use 3-dot sights with both front and rear being drift adjustable where the 45 has a blacked out rear and a non-adjustable front sight.
