I saw a Youtube video the other day that said SW has gotten rid of all the Taylor people at BTI which sucked in the Taylor brand knives.

I wonder what that means for the Schrade branded products. Of late they seemed to be focusing on budget friendly knives and many of them seem quite good for the money.

What I read was that the tactical style knives are going to have the S&W brand while the hunting/general use knives would continue to use the Schrade brand. The history, or fake history, of the current Schrade/Old Timer brand is too valuable to be eliminated. If S&W didn't care about the Schrade name they could have just made a deal with the Chinese manufacturer instead of buying Taylor Brands.

Can you point to the article you got that from? It makes sense that they'd divide the product lines that way. No one in the knife industry thinks that the Schrade name isn't a valuable commodity all on it's own that needs to be used.

Right now there's still a lot of black knives in the Schrade line to move to S&W or to just allow inventory to be sold down.
