Ted Nugent to attend State of Nation tonight

Surely he'd leave out quaint terms like "suck on my rifle!" at an event like that... though I'm sure that could only serve endear gun-owners to the hearts of the liberal masses.

You guys realize POTUS has the floor at this event, right? Nugent may attend, but he won't get mic time. Any "representation" will be physical only. He could pull a protest move and get kicked out, but the protesters they've removed in the past usually get shuffled out before they can say any understandable words over the broadcast. And a move like that would be more likely to reinforce the crazy stereotype of some gun owners.

He's attending, and that's cool. But I wouldn't say he'd be representing the gun community.

Obviously he will not be anything but a spectator during the address... but that does not mean he couldn't be found for an interview by a news source that might edit him to make us all look like fools. But I suppose that is a risk every day.

And that's not to say I don't like Ted. I admire his courage and willingness to speak out so strongly for what he believes in. Sometimes he comes off just a little too intense for my taste, though.

"represent us"???

The only way he is attending is by invitation and the only way he'll get any opportunity to "represent us" is [strike]if[/strike] when the reporters seek him out to comment after the even.

Ted Nugent is first and foremost an entertainer. That is what drives his public behavior.

Oh, he's also pro-2A

Wouldn't you want your enemy present just so you could watch them snap over what you just said/put into effect?
I wouldn't go.

POTUS isn't concerned about anyone present reacting to the SOU.

No one invited is going to jump up and shout "LIAR! Taking away my right to purchase a firearm is the same at taking away any of my rights" and POTUS isn't going to say anything that would make such a reaction appear reasonable on TV. The cameras wouldn't cover it anyway.

Uncle Ted is just going on to be able to go on as a panelist for all the commentary afterward.

Do I like everything Ted says and does? No. But the opponent we have doesn't play fair. Sometimes you have to have someone who pushes back just as hard.

The operative word is invited since both Congressman Joe Wilson yelled “you lie” and Chief Justice Robert’s mouthed “not true” when Obama was speaking.

A better forum would be when Obama is mingling with the crowd akin to his “Joe the Plummer” incident. Obama is a great tele-prompter reader, but no so keen in extemporaneous debate. If such a venue would occur, Ted would clean his clock.

I’m sure that Ted or any other pro-gun advocate will not be highlighted in the crowd as the symbolic American who is protected by Constitutional rights.

Ted Nuget is a demonstrated nut case. His outrageousness and the fact that he's on the board of NRA gives ammunition to the anti-gun folks who point to him as an example of what they perceive as the crazed gun culture of America. He's not a patriotic American, bearing the flag of 2A forward. He's a self serving lunatic, who makes it harder for the rest of us to get our point across.

He's invited for the appearance of having a broad "reasonable" agenda on the part of the Administration.

I am hoping the media does a live "interview" with him and he has the opportunity to point out that we're at the lowest murder rate in a generation and that none of the proposed ban language will do anything to move the needle on that rate since it doesn't focus on the cause of violent crime.

HAHAHAHA, I forgot about that funky little song he did called "Kiss My Glock":D

So does anyone know who actually invited the crazy Uncle Ted? I can't imagine it would be a Pro-2A Congressman as any bad behavior on the part of Ted is going to reflect very poorly on that politician. Now I can see an anti-2A inviting him solely for the possibility that crazy Ted can't get out of his own way. I hope Ted is smart enough to realize he is being used as a stooge, but I doubt his synaptic pathways are firing that effectively these days.

If he says anything, it will not do anything to help our cause. He's an entertainer and he will entertain.

What speech was this? I wanna see!

One of the previous State of the Union speeches by Obama.

Most everything on this thread is pure speculation and nothing more.

I love good ole Uncle Ted.

And that is how I see him. As your slightly wacky uncle who speaks the plain old truth.
