youth,

Bring it to the range on the 14th. You can put as much of it through my AK as you like. I'll even take care of the cleaning, eventually, it is an AK afterall. :D You'll have to load the mags though, there's only so far I go, and 600 rounds is a LOT of mag loading. I should know, I've got 600 rounds in mags and on strippers right now.

Frank

Sort of: it's a 12 gauge incendiary round.

Is that legal? I have to see one of those.

I should be able to make it too. Should everyone list what they are bringing to shoot so we'll all know who has what? Kinda helps to know that everyone isn't bringing the same 9mm pistol and nothing else. ;)

I'll be bringing a Mosin m44 and a .40 S&W and maybe my old .22 rifle for fun. My brother will be bringing his MAK90 and .45 Cal Springfield. Might also bring a .380 and .38 pistol and .32 pistol is someone wants to let their kid/wife/etc shoot something for a beginner.

I will bring my beretta 92f 9mm
.44 cal black powder revolver (got from oef_vet)
and a 22 lr

So far its a go with me getting Eddie for that sunday. I might be able to get him as early as 9am sunday or late sat night(which is what I'am shooting for:D ). I going to bring my 9mm(norinco), 89dc(ruger), 32ppk(walther). Going to try to find an old .22lr bolt action for Eddie. Mwithers72 I'll meet you at your house early and we can do some reloading before we go. I probably be bring my girlfriend with me too.:D

can somebody give me some details on the range....

what kinda distance can we shoot?
what do we do about targets?
whats the range fee?
is any part of the firing line covered if it rains?
are there any bench rest and chairs or is it just a slab you stand on and shoot??
anything else i need to know?
later

Ranges: 25, 50, 100 yard berms. You can bring a stand and set up anywhere in between if you want some odd range or closer for hand guns which is what we do usualy.
Targets: Bring paper and a staple gun/tacks. Or you can throw up some clays on the berms if you like. Want some swinging metal...bring it for 50/100 yarders. Old pc's??? old phones, printers, faxes....you name it, its been out there.
Fee: FREE!!!!
Covering: bout 6-7 tables are covered at the 100 yard section only.
Rests: 6-7 concrete slabs on cinder blocks at 100 yard, 2 at 50, 1 at 25.

Its a very primative range, so no bathrooms or niceities. Its a good idea to bring some chairs if you get tired. If you have one of those uber cool portable tables and unbreallas....might be a good idea s 25 and 50 are out in the sun and if we dont get there early you might not get a table to lay stuff on. Definatly bring a big supply of water cause it will be hot, and sunny. Sunblock might be called for also if you burn easily, think about it out in the sun for 5 or 6 hours probaly. Dont get your hopes up on quality but its a free place to shoot with occasionaly a place to sit stuff down. Oh, and sometimes the target boards get tore all to crap by local yokals that are idiots....so bring clays or like a metal gong type things as never know if you will have a place to staple a target if you dont bring your own target stands

Ill be bringing my m44 mosin nagant, 9mm hipoint carbine, and .40s&w sw99 pistol. Dont know if Ill bring anything else....probaly the 12g single shot shotgun, and maybe the 20g pump...dont know yet

I was out there sunday afternoon around 6:00pm and found that they had put up all new boards on the 25yd range. now I dont know how they will look by the time we get there.

I agree why do people have to destroy something that is put there for free use????
:banghead: :cuss: :fire:

local yokals ......... hey watch this BLAM BLAM BLAM with a 12ga pump from 7 yards :fire: :cuss: :banghead:

if we're going to shoot the mail in match, can someone print up some extra targets, since i don't have a printer??

i can bring rolls of paper to shoot at, up to 51" wide, i usually just use 2 sticks to staple it too.. it works...

I'll try to remember to print some extra targets for the Virtual match.

As for weapons, I'll be bringing:
SAR-1
SKS
M-44
AR-7 (.22)
Crickett (single-shot, bolt action .22) (kenehsr, your son is more than welcome to shoot it as much as he wants)
Ruger P89dc
Rock Island 1911
KT P-32
S&W 686
Lorcin .22
Mossberg 500 (PG/folding stock)
I may bring my desert 500, but only if I buy a dedicated case for it this week.

I'll most likely be bringing a friend. If so, he'll be bringing an SKS and CZ-50, although I don't know how he feels about letting others shoot them. My guess is that he'd be cool with it, since ya'll generally won't mind recipricating the favor.

If Angie comes along, she'll be bringing her Taurus 85 .38 snubbie.

Frank

Oef, you have a Mossberg 500? Have you seen the Sidewinder kit that is being made for them? Looks sweet in the video. It's like a pump-action version of the Street Sweeper. Looks fun to shoot...kinda overkill for home protection though.

Toys, errr, tools that I'll be bringing:

Walther P22 (.22lr)
Astra A-70 (.40)
Cheap-o SKS provided I've fixed the little "full auto slam fire" issue. :uhoh:
Mossberg 590 (12ga)

Tentative arsenal for the 14th:

M1A
M1 Carbine
Winchester 1300
Ruger 10/22, .22LR
Ruger 77/22, .22WMR
Glock 20
Rossi 720

Assuming I can make it (I plan to) I'll be bringing

Marlin 1894C .357
Ruger 22/45 .22lr
Sig P220 .45
Taurus 66 6" .357

Of course anyone is welcome to shoot any of them they please.

I just found out I may have to work that day. I haven't had to work overtime in years. Why that day?:fire: :cuss: :fire:
Unless something changes, I will have to catch the next one.:( :( :(

Oh well. More money = more toys.:D :D

I have a client that I have talked into coming. He is going to bring his SKS and his AK-47 sounds like we will have a lot of nice weapons out their.

mark

OT, but oh well.

If any of you are interested in getting a Remington 870 Express for a low price, I know where one can be found. I was just in Household Pawn on Charlotte Pike, and they have one with a ?28"? ribbed barrel for $199. It's in pretty great shape too. That's cheaper than a new Mossberg 500. I'd buy it if I could afford it and needed another 12 gauge. Just figured I'd send out a heads up.

Frank

i guess i'll bring...

ar-15
saiga....hopefully it comes in this week...
10/22
glenfield mod 60
frankenmosin 91/24.50
rem xp shillioute, i hope....
beretta 9000s in .40
beretta neos
s&w 66,686,29...
sig p232
the para will be in the shop....

that's enough...
i'll be a week cleaning those...

Hey mwithers. I talked to my karate instructor and he's going to be coming out that weekend to shoot with us. He's a riot!

And Kenny, I'll be bringing my .22 rifle if your kid wants to shoot it. I should have about 10 boxes of ammo for it that needs to be wasted too.

Greg

Thanks everyone for bring your 22's so my son could shoot. I've bought a couple of family packs of .22's. So I think he'll have fun.
My girl friend's sister is bring her husband(Mike). Which he has a shotgun he has been itchin to shoot. I've been try to get an old friend that I use to work with to come, but he hasn't replied to my emails yet.
I'am going to be looking around area pawn shops, classifieds, wally worlds, and gun shops. For a bolt .22 for my son.I'am think of trying to find a youth size 22 for him or should I try to find a reg 22 that he is comfortable with holding? I'd like to get a ruger 10/22 semi :D for myself of course:D or maybe a good used walther p22:D :D for the girlfriend to shoot of course:scrutiny: :D .
Hey mwithers what time do you want me to come out there that sunday morn?

kenehsr,

I was in Sporting Arms, near Wal-Mart on Charlotte Pike (exit 201, I-40), yesterday, and they had quite a few bolt-action .22's that would probably be perfect for your son. They also had several autos.

Frank

Really doesn’t mean.

Come as early as you would like

Now does it.

I’ll try to be there at or about, kinda sorta , maybe, somewhere around, the fasinaty( if that aint country spelling I don't know what is) of 9a.m. Hey! Maybe you could meet me at Harde’s or sonic for breakfast. You know the meal you never eat.
:neener: :neener: :neener: :neener: :neener: :neener: :neener: :neener:

I think people who have firearms to sell should also list them here with a price range in case you want to get rid of that old pistol/rifle sitting in the back of your closet. I might be interested in a pick up or two if the price and weapon is right.

I'm personally looking for an old shotgun (12ga or 20ga preferrably) if someone has one they want to get rid of while they are there.

Just a reminder about the shoot this coming weekend.

When: 1pm / 1300, Sunday, September 14th, 2003

Where: Cheatham County Range

Cost: Free

Ranges / Targets: 25, 50, and 100 yds.

Also, I've printed several extra copies of the Sept. Virtual Match in case anyone wants to shoot it.

Frank

P.S. If anyone has a .22, bring it so kenehsr's son can shoot it and get an idea of what's right for him.
