I’ve been playing with a new P365 I picked up.
I go to load it and, holster it. Rough reenactment of what my desk looked like. Ammo. Mag pouch. Stop watch. A tax bill I need to mail off that was stuck on the side of my file cabinet…just stuff. It’s re staged. I’m not really sure where everything was exactly.
I chamber a round. Take out the mag. Set the gun down and, top off the mag.
Pick the gun up. Insert the mag.
Pull my T Shirt out of the way, glance down to make sure the holster is clear and lower the gun into the holster. Finger off trigger. The muzzle goes in and I give it a nudge to seat it and, it stops.
Weird.
Lift gun to see what’s blocking it.
That little magnetite apparently, stuck to the slide when I set the gun down and, as I tried holstering it, it rolled and, latched onto the trigger. It’s oval shaped and rolled to where it was hanging outside the trigger guard on each side.
So. I cleared the gun and tried it a couple times with the safety off.
Yes. The little nudge I used to seat the gun in the holster would have fired it. Fortunately, the safety was on.
I’m big on off switches on guns. Or DA guns where I can put my thumb on the hammer when I holster it.
I figure the odds of that ever happening again are just astronomical. My finger, off the trigger, blocked my view of seeing that thing in there.
Never would have seen that coming if the gun had fired.
