The .45 acp has nothing over the 9mm that's a fact.

9mm, .357, .40cal, .45, whatever whatever. Shoot what you like. They all work just fine. Heck, I carry my .38 a lot and I have two .45s, and two 9s. I like all of them. Cheers.

I've changed my mind. I'm going to give up on 9mm and .45acp and find a pistol in .577 Tranter

Maybe it wouldn't have penetrated that semi, but it just might knock one over :D

How bout somebody just tests out either to put me out if my misery on this continual argument....

I'll be happy to perform the tests if you can find one more volunteer. Since you volunteered first, would you prefer to be shot with the 9mm or the .45? ;)

After reading argument after argument about .45 vs 9mm I got really bummed out and confused. So until I get a definitive answer from someone in the know, I'm going back to my slingshot and marbles..... .50cal marbles.
Totally unnecessary- 9mm marbles will do the job just fine.

No I'm not trying to make anyone mad I'm really not. I still here so many people saying the 9mm is worthless and the .45 acp is king and carry a real gun. I love the .45 acp. I have a $2000 hard chromed Colt custom shop special combat government competition 1911 that was made in May of 2004 and it is 100% perfect with only 1 or 2 mags of ammo through it. My best friend has one just lije it and it is the consecutive serial number to mine!! They wet e both purchased by him brand new at the same time. That is very rare, almost unheard of. I also have a brand new $2000+ Kimber custom shop Gold Combat II limited edition. They were made identical to the 1911 sylvester stallone carried in the movie The Expendables. There were only 1000 made. They are flat out beautiful. My carry guns are 9mm's though. With todays ammo like the stuff from Underwood Ammo which is the best period I promise you the .45 has no advantage over the 9mm at all. The .357 sig is #1 followrd by the 9mm. I've seen all the tests and the damage done by the .357 sig and 9mm is scary. There is a reason why so many law enforcement agencies have gone to the .357 sig and or back to the 9mm. The 9mm's sre better in every way. Way more speed, as much or more energy anf it matches the .45 in expansion and the 9mm has double the round count with a lot less recoil for follow up shots. I would like to hear others opinions on this as well. Like I said I love the .45 but it's time to face the truth. The .45 doesn't have any advantage over the 9mm any more. I know the .45 lovers can't stand to hear that but it's a fact. Feel free to prove me wrong.

Noted.

Might I point out, though, that your closing comment is somewhat incongruous with your entire post.

You cannot compare the relative performance characteristics between two differing calibers in a meaningful way. Apples and oranges.

Both calibers are excellent in their own rights.

Let's test 9mm first, because clearly it will just bounce off or it will just slip like through me as if it were a shot of penicillin. Clearly the 45 should go last since it's what all the dinosaur hunters use in the Philippines because 38 was too weak to take out the T-rex

Sauer1911 says "I'm gonna stick to my ole .22 short. It's not the arrow it's the shooter."

I almost blew pop all over my t.v. screen!!! Oh man. LOL
