Here's my family. The top is my first build, completed this summer with an 18" Larue PredatAR barrel. In the middle is an M&P Sport I've had for several years. The bottom is my second build completed this fall with a 14.5" P&W Faxon barrel. It's my "reasonably priced" lightweight build, coming in at 6lbs 2.7oz as shown.

Details on the front rest riser please.

I’m not sure what it’s called, I did an internet search for scissor lift. I ordered it from a medical lab supply. It was less than $20. There’s no info on it that I can provide. It’s about 8” x 8” . They come in a variety of sizes.

IMG_20200126_063848978.jpg Good friend and owner of the ranch I hunt on wanted a 300 BO. I volunteered to build him one. I wanted it to be special for him. Contemplated many design themes. He will use it for critter control so I figured a camo theme would be appropriate. Used barb wire and oak leaves (live oak & pin oak) as stencils. I like how it turned out. Still have a couple of personalizations to add.

When I first built this I felt it could be a 1000 us gun. I have since been reminded multiple times that the 6.5 Grendel is not ideal at that range.
My local range has 800, but I haven’t tried yet. I’m still in load development stages and not quite found the accuracy I am looking for.

Worst case scenario I get a smaller scope and it becomes a solid deer rifle.

At least we will have photos of the good old day, after the government takes them all.

Sold my toy in 2011. View attachment 892352 https://www.thehighroad.org/index.php?media/albums/colt-m16a1-carbine-sold.260/

I bought mine in 2012 ... but it didnt look like this!

It's original configuration was a 604 I believe, 1967 serial number, skinny 20" barrel, it came from a prision in California, then 2 other individuals before me. I've got a 11.5" colt upper, 10.5" 9mm Colt upper Colt LMG upper, and this Ares Defense MCR belt fed upper which I have the lite 16" barrel and semiauto bolt carrier and heavy 12" barrel & fullauto bolt carrier.
Hopefully I'll have a gun nut heir, otherwise the wife can sell it.
