The High Road AR15 Picture Thread

This is my favorite range toy, probably about the plainest on this thread.

It is a Sabre Defence SR-15, has the Cavalry Arms 1 pc poly lower which seems like the best option if you're going that route. Very light weight, so I decided not to hang anything off of it, just added a flip up on the rear and called it good.

It holds 30 round mags just fine also.

RRA Elite Operator II - my first AR. My first centerfire rifle, for that matter. I like it a lot but kinda wish I had picked up the M&P15 Magpul edition I handled at my LGS, as it was lighter. Already picked up some Pmags and a Magpul BAD.

I think most of the weight of this gun is in the barrel, so I'm considering putting together a lightweight upper in the future. In the meantime, I've got a Magpul pistol grip on the way and will soon pick up a BCM charging handle.

Debate rages on optics of course, and I even find myself thinking about a flip-up rear sight, or even a complete railed gas block and matching front and rear BUIS set to get rid of all the front sling swivels.

We'll see...

CharlieDeltaJuliet, that is a very nice HK you have there! I think they're some of the best looking AR's on the market!

Yzguy87, thank you. It means a great deal to me for some to not knock Hk for their rifle. They are great rifles but not for everyone. They are a bit heavier than a light barrel AR, but worth it for my use. To be honest, I am going to try, but I don't think I can wear this rifle out. If I do it going back to Hk..lol so far it has been accurate, very reliable and the self regulating gas block runs it like a top no matter what you feed it.

Mostly Bravo Company and JP Enterprises but it has my preferred parts regardless who made them. It is a stellar shooter.

I had this section of the desert all to myself today. Never saw another human being. It was a light breeze and 75 degrees. I was out there all day. I tested and clocked two of my newest hand loads as well. One is a keeper.

It was a beautiful sunrise.

And the little Barska scope was a gamble that paid off. I wanted a compact bench-top sighting scope for 100 yard targets and this was the fix. All-in-all, a great day in the Mohave Desert.

This is my first rifle build. I wanted something that would be relatively short, lightweight, and affordable. My plans are to add a milsurp sling, low magnification optic, light, and tritium front sight post; but judging by how long it took me to afford and piece together the rifle as pictured it will be a while. At this point I'm just happy that it's finally operable.
