Marine, firefighter county, city, and hot shot smoke jumper...Deputy
Sheriff in So. Nevada, armed security guard RETIRED. Left volunteer
fire in June of this year, but still umpteen volunteer service and the
Marine Corps League:D

Independent college-level educator teaching community classes in systems sciences and related disciplines.

Oh, and I want to be a DJ when I grow up.

I design, program, and install automated inspection systems for a medical device company. I'll bet somebody on this board is walking around with a device that I've verified is high quality. Unless it was made on a Friday afternoon...

Full-time accountant and full-time grad student working on my MBA. Always interested in a new job though!

Production color print systems analyst with Xerox. The job used to be fun, but reality got in the way.

There are a million jobs I'd rather have, but they don't pay the mortgage.

Wow, just the one I've done for 15 years or before that?

Currently a health and safety professional for a very large science and engineering consulting firm. My boss and I are responsible for industrial hygiene, occupational safety, radiation protection and emergency response for 3,000+ people scattered all over the U.S. and Canada. Most of those folks work in the environmental investigation/remediation/engineering field, but some are involved in other things.

Previously I was a researcher at DOE and before/during that at a major SE university.

I also buy, sell, design and play with knives.

Co-owner of a lawn service. I mow more people's grass then I care to know, and when I get home...mowing my own, is the last thing i want to do.

The grass may be greener on the other side.......but it still needs to be mowed!!

Systems engineer... actually Systems Engineering Functional Manager for a mid sized defense contractor.

So, basically, I'm a cat herder. We make all kind of cool stuff... biggest product line is UAVs (unmanned aerial vehicles), followed by training and test systems for military stuff, plus we dabble in small arms. Never was active military, but am proud to be doing my part to help equip the brave men and women who are.

Plus, as a manager, I don't really have to do any real work... what a country! :D

Spent 15 years working at a local parts distribution center for a fortune 500 company, last 8 or 9 years split between Inventory control Manager and software developer. Went back and got my Elementary Education degree Grad. Dec. 06, teaching 6th grade now and going back to get my Masters, taking 15 hours this summer, as well as coaching the girls soccer team at one of the local high schools.

Still don't know what I want to be when I grow up.

My solution to that enigma is simple:
I don't plan to grow up.
{Now 50-something}

I'm with you on that one. 37 going on 16 !:D

Analytical (al)chemist for a chemical company.

As a group, chemists tend to be attracted to fire and making things that can go boom, so my affinity for the shooting sports and my choice of profession are probably related.
