I have found pump shotguns to be more reliable than the semi-autos. I personally like the Mossberg pumps but would also feel comfortable with Remington, Winchester if I had trained enough so that muscle memory guides me properly to the safety. The few semi-autos I've shot are fun but I've had them every now and then do something "funny."
