Stopped into my local pawn shop this afternoon and found this Bicentennial Security Six. There's a little bit of pitting on the cylinder but other than that it's fine as frog hair. The shop owner threw in a Bianchi holster and box of Blazer 158gr jhp to close the deal. Not to shabby for $329.

Back in December I picked up this 315 Night Guard for $600 OTD. The gun was like new, the shop owner said an older gentleman traded it for a new Glock 22 and said he never shot it. I've put a few threw since then.

$329?

You realize that everyone here now hates you.
I was actually walking out the door when the owner threw in the ammo. He'd overheard my wife say buy it if I wanted it. I consider it reparations for her shooting down my new tractor purchase this year.

I just put some rounds down the pipe of the Ruger. The trigger isn't as nice as most of the Smiths I own but it's serviceable. Extraction was sticky, possibly from the aluminum cased Blazer I was shooting. My 6 year old son had no trouble with standard pressure 38s
but he still preferred his .22 (S&W 317).

Wish people all over made deals like yours. But the greed bug has everyone these days.
Your weapon will stand the test of time and be going strong when you are long gone. Enjoy the Ruger.

That was probably the best DA revolver Ruger ever came up with. And built like a Humvee. I worked at a shop back in the 80s/90s when a lot of LEO shops were dumping these on the used market as they "transitioned" to the bottom feeders. You could get one with honest holster wear but almost zero firing time for $250 to $275. I shoulda bought more guns back when I was younger and dumber. Hang on to that one and shoot it like you stole it (cuz you did)

Nice pick-up!

I'm with Dr. Rob..... My local urban pawn shop chain only sells those magical $600 Glocks and $500 Mossburgs

Weather and honey-do list permitting, I plan on putting several rounds through that NG this weekend. If everything goes well I'll have a K frame in the carry rotation.

Love me some Ruger Security Six.

Fine revolver.

Durable, wish they never stopped making them.

Dr.Rob,
Not to make you feel any worse, but about a year ago I picked up a 4" Colt Trooper .38 Spl w/box for $325 OTD from a pawn, worn a lot, not shot much, a true dandy ! Made in '62.
