Need I say yep lol . I use A LOT of LC brass and I've found the headstamp you have or that type it better brass then the LC brass that has the little circles/dots on them .
Circles/dots on the left , cleaner more plain headstamp on the right . I've not done any research as to why there are so different a headstamp with the same brand case . If you guys know please explain other then made in different plants , that's kinda obvious .
I have multiple years of both types and the LC cases with the headstamp that looks more like the one on the right are always better . More consistent in case weight and case volume as well as being able to handle more pressure . Or I should say max load data charges . The LC-14 cases with the dots seem to be made a bit softer then the others . I get sticky bolts using LC-14 cases with those dots way before I get that using the LC cases with out the dots . This is with the case volumes only being off by 1/2 gr or less yet I can load almost 2 more full grains of powder in the no dot cases with resulting in 120fps+ higher velocity and NO pressure signs . Now these are all 308 cases used in bolt guns . I use just as many LC cases with multiple head stamps in 223/5.56 but they're always fired in semi auto rifles so I don't know if the same issue exist with the LC 5.56 brass .
If you don't want that brass I'm willing to take off off your hands. I'm just good like that!
You found very good brass, LC brass is considered some of the best brass available. It being once fired is even better. You got lucky alright, good for you...
Some US GI cartridge cases are run on SCAMP (Small Caliber Ammunition Modernization Program) lines. This is HIGH speed cartridge case making equipment. Several lines of SCAMP machinery may be used to run cases thru out the year, or on the same lot/year of ammo. Those dots identify which SCAMP line
