Yes I was. And if somehow Hillary Clinton is elected, I'll be offended if (when) the inevitable stupid nicknames begin ... (Even though I loath the woman with every fiber of my being.)

If not, then it's not the tone that bothers you, it's the fact that it's aimed at YOUR GUY.

This is what really amuses me -- as though anyone would think that -- even IF George Bush was "my guy" -- he needs me to defend him on a freakin' internet forum! It's almost insulting to think that some would think that I think I need to defend him on an internet forum ...

Surprise, surprise... Not everyone here worships George Bush.

Statist apologist is no more of a "Personal Attack" than calling someone a NeoConservative or libertarian.No, of course not -- because it's simply another label that in the great scheme of things means absolutely nought.

Odd. The moderators who have posted in this thread seem to disagree with you. Healthy debate is welcomed, personal attacks and slander are not.

2) Do I think he had to sustain such personal attacks? Yes.
Poke a bear with a sharp stick and you will get to sustain an attack. He was not forced to start up this non-conforming and ill-conceived thread.

Interesting suppositions. You know nothing about me. Nobody poked me with a stick. I just got tired of all of the childish rantings.

What he did is severally similar to going to a hockey game and asking the spectators to please stop yelling.

No, I went to a hockey game where the spectators were beating each other with 2x4s and asked them to yell instead of beating each other. Do you see the difference?

This thread is proving to me more and more that L&P has been overrun. I am saddened, but not surprised at all by the comments that have been directed at me by so many people who feel they know me well enough to make such comments that are intended to do nothing more than to shut the peanut gallery up.

All I asked for was civility, what I got was more of the same, but with an added dose of rancor.

If someone's posting style annoys you, you can either use the ignore feature, ignore the problem poster the old-fashioned way, or drive them crazy by consistently responding to their inanities in a calmly logical fashion which does not include name-calling.
