Thoughts on 10mm 1911

I ran about 200 rounds of 10 mm 175 & 180 grain FMJ through my SR1911 last weekend. Let two buddies have a go and they ran four mags each through it. Both told me that it had the smoothest trigger they have shot on a semi-auto before. Shoots better than my 45 ACP R1 or one buddy’s S&W M&P .45 ACP. I’ve got it loaded with B.B. 220 grain hard cast loads for walking around the back woods and 175 grain Critical Defence loads for walking down to the mailbox.

Update ... ran a bit of 10 mm through my DE, both Remington and S&B. Very manageable recoil
Cool! Now try it with some 10mm that is loaded to its potential and let us know how that is.

Underwood loads some mean stuff. Try some when you have $100 you don't need.

I've had my DE since 1989. It served as my woods gun until I bought a Glock 29 in the 2000s to keep the beautiful Delta pristine. Lowest power load used with it was PMC's 170 gr HP at 1200fps, a common loading of the day, but likely mostly Silver-Tips, along with my own reloads. Never an issue, never a failure of any kind. It has an honored spot in the safe.
