Threaded Barrel

I live in VA where silencers are legal to own. I was watching Dr. No the other day and I realized in one scene, bond uses a silenced FN 1910 (Im really certain it is not his PPK). Anyway this got me thinking, is there any way to thread an unthreaded barrel. Can a gun smith do this? Im sure it would be legal. Is there any way to legally make a gun silencer possible if a prethreaded barrel is not avaliable?

Yup sure can. Local guy here does rifles for $60 or so. For pistols you'd have to find yourself an adapter or get an extended barrel and have it threaded.
