I'm curious: does any state ban threaded barrels? Most flash hiders and/or muzzle brakes attach that way, even if they are brazed on for "permanent" attachment.

From what I read, California allows you to own a threaded barrel, but it is a felony for that barrel to be installed, mounted, etc. on a pistol. Not sure about rifles.
