You have done a good thing my friend.
I work at a state university student computer lab,,,
I've introduced many young men and women to shooting.
The majority of them enjoy shooting but will never go on their own,,,
But some of them have become avid shooters in their own right.
So yes I truly do "enjoy taking newbies" to the range,,,
Very few things are as satisfying as watching
I've even been known to gift a pistol to a very select few kids,,,
Our school mascot is Pistol Pete so one young lady got this as a graduation gift.

She took to shooting like a duck to water,,,
Her father bought her a S&W M&P Compact 22.
She liked shooting my Colt Frontier Scout quite a bit,,,
So I bought her this Heritage single action,,,
And made the gun belt and holster.
Right now I have two young ladies and one guy chomping at the bit to go,,,
But with this pandemic we all decided to wait a while.
I too see no reason a newbie can't handle a round or two of .44 Mag,,,
But I do have them work up to it in several stages,,,
.22, then .38, then 357 Mag, then .44 Mag.
I save the empty shells and put them in a small jar,,,
They seem to like the keepsake.
Keep it up my friend,,,
Few endeavors are more satisfying to the soul.
