Yes, but those 10 shot stages are shot in 2, 5-shot strings.

Not at Allen Arms in Greenville, SC. Same reason I bought 10 round mags for my 1911.

p.s. on further recollection, the 10 round 1911 was for bowling pins.

Really? Well usually the term "bullseye matches" refers to a form of competition conducted under rules formulated by the NRA. In times past both revolvers and pistols were allowed. Since the vast majority of revolvers were 6-shot, 5-shot strings were the order-or-the-day.

I should have expected that somebody in S.C. would do it differently. :D

I can't rationalize how Ruger took the Single Six and made it a 10!!!

I always have wondered why Ruger still leaves so much excess metal in the cylinders of their 22 revolvers. Adding four more chambers makes for more efficient use of the size of the cylinder.

Ruger goofed with making the LCR 22 magnum with only six chambers. Taurus added 2 more and still keeps the look of the traditional snub-nose revolver.

Howdy

I bought this ten shot Model 617 a few years ago because I was shooting a steel plate match every month and had to get off eight aimed shots in fifteen seconds. Yeah I could do it with my Ruger Mark II, but I wanted to use a revolver and couldn't manage it with my Model 17-3.

I picked up this seven shot Model 686 last year on a lark, just because it was in the shop when I was there and I thought I would try it out.

But, I think these are the two ugliest Smiths I own.

But let's be very clear. Nobody is more traditional than me.

i love my single 10. the single 6 cylinder just has too much wasted metal.
the 6 weighs more.
i don't need all that weight for 22s.
