Trigger spring bent in my MP 15 AR.

Trigger spring bent in my MP 15 AR.
The trigger would not reset. I had to push it forward. Then the pull was very heavy. When i looked into it. Here the one leg on the trigger spring was bent out. But not all the way to coil. It was bent out part way up. I wonder what could have caused that? I put another spring in. It's good now.

Faulty spring. Was it a cheap rifle?

It was in my S&W MP 15. Cheap spring though.

What a great excuse to upgrade! Rise armament has a decent trigger on sale for 89 right now. If you want an awesome trigger, you can find giessele SSA enhanced 2 stage triggers for 150 pretty often.

Reduced power springs means they're not as rigid and more susceptible to damage. I suspect it was installed incorrectly (misaligned).

I put the hammer spring is upside down. I did it on all 5 of my AR'S. I did have the trigger spring in correctly. I take my time when doing any work.

I have had great luck with the RISE trigger cartridges, I put them in 5 of my AR’s with zero issues to date.
