So.... My AWESOME wife got me a P320 X-Carry! I know, I know, I'm a VERY lucky man. :)

Well, being the trigger snob that I am, I'm always curious if a factory trigger can be improved on. Well, I sprung for the Apex kit, and yeah, it does a great job taking out take-up, but just like advertised, it doesn't do anything for the pull weight of dropping the sear.

Well, since I really love learning how the mechanisms inside the gun work, I took the thing down. (it's easy, no springs want to fly off in this design) But, I noticed that there are two (2!!!) small diameter springs pushing the sear up. Anyone removed one of the sear springs? What was your result? There is a divider that keeps the springs in-line as they compress, so.... in theory.... if only one spring was used, it would be held in place.

I see that Grey Ghost offers a trigger job, and they indicate that they do micro-polishing of some internal components. Anyone know which components they are referencing? The little frame (the serialized part) is clearly bead-blasted (or something like that) to put a texture on it, presumably to remove and hide the form markings from when they stamped the metal into the shape, so I took the Dremel to the surfaces that the trigger bar rides against, and a little aluminum polish, and there is certainly less 'grit' feel, although the Apex unit removes so much play that you don't really notice it much anyway.

There is a noticeable (but minor) difference with the slide OFF, when you are actuating the trigger, and you get to the 'wall' where the action begins to drop the sear. Once you put the slide back on, there is significantly more resistant at that same 'wall' point.

Anyone have any insight or experience they're willing to share?

The SIG P320 has a bit of a history of unintended discharges in stock form. I'd be real hesitant to make parts less standard than designed.
