Tumbler media - Cheap!

I've used pet store Walnut but I found it cheaper at Zoro. But you gotta buy 40 #! But it don't go bad so if you have the space to store it, why not?

I prefer corncob media for the high luster, though it takes longer. This being said, I usually leave brass go in the tumbler for 24+ hours, so I don't care about how long it takes. My first tumbler lasted me 15 years doing this. My second (and current) is going strong for 5 years, so it doesn't seem to be wearing out my tumblers doing this.

Well, not quite at $8 for 5.2 lbs, which is $1.53/lb.

Home Depot 18-40 grit blasting media is $25/25 lbs and screened for uniform size to not clog flash holes and washed for no dust tumbling - https://www.thehighroad.org/index.p...-thing-fa-brass-tumbler.926192/#post-12790152

Harbor Freight runs just a little bit less $$$/per pound. I've been using it for years. Make sure to buy the fine, not the coarse.
Yes on fine grit (24) over coarse grit (12) which will plug the flash hole. They just ran 25% off coupon few days ago too.

I don't really consider even the "branded" tumbler media expensive. Still on my first 1 gallon jugs of walnut and corncob after over 5 years of tumbling. Using pet bedding might have saved me 0.5 cents/load if I actually calculate it.
