My local gun shop is selling crates of Yugoslavian SKS's (10 rifle per case) for $3,000.

AIM has what look like the same guns on sale for $130 (but usually $160). Is the wood crate and running serial numbers I would get from the local gun shop worth the extra $1,700? Or is that just typical gun shop mark up? I know they have to make money, but I would think that AIM gives actual FFL dealers even better prices then what they post on their site.

Other,

Unless it has solid gold sights, platinum trigger, and the serial number encrusted with diamonds, I don't think I've ever seen a Yugo SKS worth $300.

The going rate for Yugos half that.....

Granted they MAY be running serials and in factory crate.... but how many people are going to want to buy 10 SKS's at a whack??

There may be some collector type out there who'd slobber and drool about something like this, but it's not me..... :D

Just my .02,

Ask Aim and they'll most likely throw in a case for free, read somewhere they were giving these empty boxes away if you'd stop and pick them up.
Ask what they would sell a case of them for and get together with a few pals and buy one. Most likely will give a good deal on ammo and shipping too.

Have you checked the crate? Maybe its lined with gold or at least silver. I hear thats how the NAZI's hid some of their treasure. I saw a movie once, check to make sure the metal parts to the crate aren't painted over gold:scrutiny: I think you are on to something, at least make him a deal on the crate. If I'm right, make sure you take a dolly with you but if you have to, throw out the SKS's to save weight. Time is important! Zig Heil!

PS: I went to AIM about a year ago, they have a pile of ammo crates free for the taking, at least they did. I think any silver and gold was already removed, I CHECKED!

That's what I thought. :D When I saw the crate sitting in the store and the price posted on it (actually $2,999) I was a little shocked because I could of swore I had seen the same rifles on AIM for like $99/each shipped. It turns out those were the shooters grade ones on AIM and the ones at the store did look like they were in a never used condition and they came with a bunch of extra stuff in the crate (little bound books, other things wrapped in brown paper that I'm not sure what they were - cleaning kits and slings probably).

A guy is selling them right out of the crate at the Dallas gunshow this weekend (12/7). ~$150ea.

I still want to buy a case of rifles, pry the top off the crate, put a glass top on it and use it as a coffee table. For the prices I'm seeing at some furniture stores, the price is still somewhat competitive. :p

I saw a case of Mosin Nagant revolvers $109ea., and a case of Maks (I forget how much these were.) I still like the case of rifles better for looks.

Dang, you shouldn't be giving me bad ideas like that. If AIM would send me a whole crate for like $1,300 that would make one nice looking coffee table. Still an expensive coffee table for me, but tempting. :) Not too secure of a place for the rifles, but showing them off is half the fun.

AIM probably would sell you a whole crate. Who's going to turn down somebody wanting to buy ten guns at once? The cost of shipping it would probably kill you though. I don't think UPS would take it.
