UGLY GUNS...

I posted this before on the space gun thread, my Explorer II pistol.

Since then I added a laser sight, because acquiring a sight picture in a pistol scope is slow.

There are reasons no one making the AR-7 after Charter Arms has tried to revive the Explorer II Pistol.
They are ugly.
Finding this was kinda like finding a homely stray pup that no else one wants but it looks at me with big sad eyes.

The funny thing is that building 22lr AR pistols to look like Hans Solo's Blaster in the in thing now. And those look similar to the Explorer II.

It is a Star Wars Han Solo Blaster made using a CMMG 4.5" 22lr barrel. Some guys have went as far as using offset mounts and pistol scope to make them look even more authentic.

Here is a photo I found in the following ARFCOM thread: https://www.ar15.com/forums/AR-15/CMMG-22LR-Baby-AR-Blaster/15-772389/?page=2

There are a few threads in the AR15 >> Rimfire and Pistol Calibers section on ARFCOM.
I want to build one! were can I get a vintage Ultra Dot!

and that grip? anybody got a link?

I bought one 3-4 years ago, but it looks modern

I bought the one below a couple years ago. If I put on the front tube extension, removed the logo, gave it the fake wear treatment, and spread the ring spacing, it would look exactly like the one in @12Bravo20 's post.

Gen 2 just means it has a 2 moa dot instead of 4. Carbine versus pistol use, ya know?

I did end up removing the eye cup and installed different rings, though.

Not ugly...but very...unusual. Has an almost "steam punk" feel to it. Found on another gun group.
The tube under the barrel is an early flashlight, the copper plates on the grips turn on the light when the hand comes in contact with it, completing the circuit.
The article says they were the guns of Hitler's personal bodyguards. Only two known to exist currently.

yeah, but does it take glock mags?

I just intentionally bought my first ugly gun, an "Illinois Glock". I wanted a full size .45, but not with the modern shorter "4 in." barrel. (it's in quotes because 1" of it is chamber, which is cheating, compared to revolver barrels) I got the "5 in." which is an honest 4", hehehe.

Anyway, the ergonomics and trigger are better than those of a comparable Glock 41, though the looks aren't.

I tried to pretty it up a bit with a still life, but she's STILL ugly, even when my mouth waters for the bourbon. XD and Makers Mark.jpg

A lot of pretenders , but no cigar. Now THIS is an ugly gun.!! More detail can be found in the "Handguns, general discussion" thread.

Switch that Kentucky Bourbon out for some good ole' Tennessee Bourbon and it will help all your issues... I only use Kentucky Bourbon to cook with now, I feel like I'm a better person for it...
