Nugent was on Donnie Deutch's show last night and I have to say he skillfully dismissed all of Deutch's attempts to make Ted seem like a neanderthal. Deutch went though the whole litany of anti-2nd arguments - more guns = more crime, CCW = road rage murders, etc, etc and Nugent just picked every one of them apart with great humor and facts. Deutch also tried to get in some anti-hunting, PETA type arguments and Nugent shot those down as well. I especially liked it when Nugent said that although we have an ethical obligation to not abuse animals we can use them to our advantage and, furthermore, animals have no "rights", as Deutch kept saying over and over.

Nugent can at times be seen as a little over the top but he was very articulate, non-argumentative, and he came across as being a very good spokesman for the 2nd and hunting rights. His wife was on as well and she was equally articulate.

I love it when fact and reason win out over emotion, fear, and lies.

SOunds like I missed a good one last night.Having hunted with Ted a number of years ago,I can say he is a helluva nice guy,and adament in his beliefs. When he's right,he's right, and just keeps on coming.

When I first read the title of this thread, I thought Teddy K :barf: was on as a slobbering drunk who stated that we need to get rid of those pesky firearms.

Good to hear that Mr. Nugent took care of business and sounded like he didn't even bat an eyelash at some of these.

I saw most of the interview with Ted and his wife. Ted was smokin'!!!!

I think I caught a part of the interview where Ted said he was thinking about running for some officer?? Govenor perhaps?

Buy the host is blind to his bias. He said he was fiscially conservative, strong on the military and moderate on social issues. He is not moderate on social issues. Someone that is better at cut and paste than I am needs to send him the info from the CDC that shows the accidental deaths in this country. He was spouting off that 5 thousand children die of accidental gun deaths. He sounds like he might be educated if he got correct unbiased info.

Donnie Deutch is further proof that they will let have their own show. He is such a joke I can't believe you guys toughed it out through the whole show!!

He promised to run for governor of Michigan if Jennifer Granholm (a Democrat) won in '02. Well, Granhom comes up for re-election in about a year, and unfortunately there's no signs yet that Teddy is going to run. My wife is seriously upset by this; after seeing him speak at a local college campus a couple of years ago, she'd vote in into any office in the land (as would I).

Maybe he's thinking about running for office in Texas. He owns a rather substantial ranch next to the president's ranch. I know a lot of Texans who would vote for him. Quite a few of us are tired of Captain Good Hair (Perry) and his ilk.

I saw the show. It was pretty much unbearable. Donny comes off as a wimp, and Ted always seems a little too kooky. Just uncomfortable to watch. To be honest, I don't think Ted plays well with most voters/Americans, and he probably does more to hurt the cause than help it. It's not so much what he says (because it makes a lot of sense), it more how he's saying it. Riding a buffalo on stage seems goofy to me.

I think Ted does so well in these type situations is he has a sense of humor, about himself, life, and others. He has a great ability to remain calm.

Deutch is well known for this sort of stuff. He attempted to pull a sucker-punch on a guy who's in the video game industry several months ago. The guy walked off the show.

Deutch is nothing more than a younger, dumber, louder version of Bill O'Reilly, which, I suspect, puts his IQ level somewhere near a basket of clams.
