Old habits can be hard to break. I used Unique and Bullseye for years because the person that helped me get started in reloading used these powders.
I have been using WW231 for years now and it is economical, meters exceptionally well, and burns clean. Unlike many other powders, there are no left over flakes of (unburned) powder or excessive black soot.
I agree with the dirty = bullet lube comment. If I load jacketed bullets with 231 in my .45acp, as opposed to cast bullets with a lube ring, the difference is very obvious.
Besides, there are is a ton of readily available reloading data on 231.
