Used glock or CZ?

I have the Glock 17, Glock 34, CZ75BD and CZP-01. Also the Kadet Kit for the CZs. The P-01 is smaller and about the same weight as the Glock 17. I carry the P-01 when I carry. The P-01 is as or more accurate than the others. The Kadet Kit gives me the option of shooting thousands of rounds through my frames for little money.

They are all reliable enough to trust for defense, and I do. I don't move guns around to where I need them, I keep guns where I need them, and every one of those guns is where I need one.

The Glocks are like carrying a revolver - no safeties, just simple defense. Pull the trigger and it goes bang. Can't go wrong with the Glock. The smallest Glock is the 26. The 19 is also small.

So are the decocker CZ's like the PCR, P-01 and 75BD. No safeties, just pull the trigger. When you decock these pistols its to a half cock notch that allows a shorter trigger pull. They are intended to be carried this way and are quite safe.

I might also add that while the Glock is undeniably a popular, well made, and simple pistol, the CZ is a favorite in the middle east, especially Israel, and is well known for being durable and reliable in the sandy conditions. And that is not a recent phenom, but they have been very popular over there for years (longer than Bev has owned his lemon).

The CZ is a great design. Mine has been absolutely reliable. It is an older CZ 85. Of all my guns, if I had a choice of only one for self defense, range or playing the games the CZ would be in the holster and the 1911's and revolvers would be gone.

Take Care

My 75B has been totally reliable with anything I've loaded in the magazine.

The other thing I like is that the CZ gives you the option of cocked and locked carry, or a DA carry.
You also get better ergonomics and better construction (sorry folks, steel > plastic) and a better looking gun. :neener:

You can get a problem gun with either brand name.

If you can , try both before you buy. I have both and like both. I prefer the CZ in most respects, but frequently shoot a Glock 34 in IDPA competition.

Pick the one that fits you best. YOU have to make the choice.

Try them both before you buy.

I have shot both, but own neither.

If I had to choose, I would choose a CZ75, due to my fondness for 1911s and C&L carry. No Glock trigger can match the CZ SA trigger, after it has been broken in.

All three are probably a wash in terms of accuracy, reliability etc, but all three shoot and handle very different in the hand and in the holster, each has a quite different manual of arms in terms of safeties, slide locks and decockers, chances are that you will shoot better and more consistently with one of them, but there's no short cut, you need the range time with each to find out which....
