In the words of that wise man, Rick Bobby, "I want to fast!"

When you feel the need, the need for speed, how fast can you get rounds through a shotgun? Well, in the case of the Benelli M4, pretty darn fast, as this video demonstrates.

Yes, yes, speed is fine, accuracy is final, but sometimes you just have to cut loose a bit and let the lead fly.

What shotgun are you able to shoot most quickly?

VIDEO LINK HERE.

Disclaimer: Yes, I know I was not wearing eye pro, shame on me. Totally forgot to put them on. Bad, very bad.

I really like it. It is the Magpul Angled Forend Grip.

Great stuff. It really helps me get it well planted in my shoulder.

Fast

Nice. Very fast. Put on a longer magazine and you can challenge Pat Flanigan for the speed record (if he still holds it).

Nope, sorry, MSX is NOT faster than the M4. Time my string of eight for yourself and see.

How about you time it for us? I'm a little bit lacking in the timer department.

It's possible the Saiga 12 is faster than either of those. I haven't personally done it, but there's videos like this one:

Yes, that's bumpfiring, but put in a short trigger like the Tapco G2 and you could easily achieve similar performance to the shotguns above. It's really a question of how fast the action is, and the AK-style action is very fast.

303TOM, the position in a Google search is based more on paid priority than on relevance.

PTMCCAIN, can you post the exact time for us? Instead of just telling us to?

No, sorry, I'm not posting times because last time I did something like that I was accused of: lying, cheating, altering the video, editing, doing it wrong, and .... who knows what else.

Pull up on an line stopwatch timer and compare, you won't find any meaningful speed difference in cycle times between a M4 and MSX.

Posting your own time would only apply to lying. Cheating, altering the video, editing, etc. would all still apply if we used our own timers.

If you want to insert a video on a page, just insert the unique identifier of your video between [ youtube ] tags (without the spaces, of course).

Whatever, anyone can easily grab on online timer and use it while watching the vids.

Of course Flannigan is using a highly customized shotgun with custom trigger, I am just using stock Benelli

Point of video is simply to demonstrate that the M4 is every bit the match of any other semi-auto when it comes to action cycle time.

That was impressive.

How much faster can you shoot the M4 vs the M2?

I used to be able to get 5 shots through a stock 870 quicker than most guys could get 5 through an 1100, but it wasn't easy and I'm sure I've lost a step since then. That being said, I'm pretty sure PTM would utterly smoke me.

"How much faster can you shoot the M4 vs the M2? "

Never have used any other Benelli, wouldn't mind trying though!

Hmmm

I don't know that you are wrong about that. I am interested in how you know that.

Flanigan would perish the thought of any shotgun other than one with the name Mossberg in it
IIRC, he set the record with a Winchester SX3.
