There are 2 brothers who go magnet fishing and find their share of guns.
This time they found a 1964 Uberti Remington and then go about trying to clean it up.
They eventually put it in a nice display case instead of replacing parts as with other finds.
The park where they found it is located in Jamestown, North Dakota.
Is anyone getting ideas from watching this video? :D

That was pretty cool. At first I thought they had found an original NMA. Watching them disassemble the gun I didn't see them remove the hand when they removed the hammer and when reassembled the cylinder didn't turn when the hammer was cocked. They may want to send it back in case its still under warranty.:D

I just wonder how it ended up at the bottom of the river?

I attempted magnet fishing. First toss it got snagged and I couldn't budge it.
Its probably still there.

It got there just like any other guns thrown in a river

I grew up next to a small creek, it is next to the railroad and are side had a water mill and fill stations for the old steam trains. We owned both side and as a kid I was in there all year. Either fishing, catching Crayfish, flipping and moving them to rebuild the rock walls that feel in. Even I winter time playing on the ice.

Over the years I found 6 complete guns I can think of, many other pieces. None ever any good some you could see what they were. A sheriff lived next door so we would bring them to him and he made a report just in case it was used in a crime or stolen.

Found a bunch of railroad related stuff and parts from the mill.

I really enjoyed the vid. The brothers did a good job removing all the detritus from that Remington. What cracked me up was their description of it as a Yewberti and Cardone. I was a bit appalled that they performed cleaning on the left side sink with dishes and silverware in the right side sink. I doubt I will be eating at their house anytime soon. :barf:

A while ago someone post a thread on one of the forums about a couple of guys finding a cache of revolvers under a cutbank of a creek in Oklahoma. It was speculated that either the gunsmith's wife was angry and buried them there, or that the gunsmith put them there to escape any repercussions for whatever he was faced with.

I did not save a link to the thread but I did save all of the photos. These appear to be all handmade guns. Here are just a few of the guns:

I have many more photos if you folks want to see them.

If the Flintstones had had firearms....

There is always the chance someone dumped a canoe and lost it. A couple of centuries ago guns being lost from overturned canoes and flat boats was a common happening. Supposedly the original Bowie knife was lost in a river by a Bowie descendant after Bowie died at the Alamo. Not all guns found in rivers or lakes were thrown there. Why do you think guns like an AR-7 and the Marlin Papoose with its floating case were designed to float? Maybe instead of a snarky answer next time do a little more reading.;)

I'm just saying most seem to be within throwing distance from bridges or bank sides.
