Are any of you that reload familiar with vihtivouri powders? I found some n120 on sale at Scheels for 59.99 for 2.2025 lbs reg 83.99 . The vithtavouri website shows multiple cartridges I can use this to reload for.

I use quite a bit of VV, it’s often cleaner than others, just more expensive.
Expensive is a relative term right now. I am reloading for 308, and these powders are cheaper than varget or most of the other Hodgdon offerings. That said, the group in my profile picture shows how much my current barrel seems to like N150… I’d say buy it,run it, love it. 😁

I'm looking into reloading for 308,3030 and 300 blk, $30 a lb sounds good for powder compared to upwards of $50 a lb for powder, may have to go back to Scheels and pick up a few more lbs

Definitely on the fast side, but would probably work. VV has data for em… so I’d run careful and try it… for 40% cheaper it’s worth a try I’d say.

I have been looking at their app, theirs a few loads I'm interested in that I can use this powder for

It's just slower than n110 their mag 357/44 pistol powder. Your 300bo will like it for subs and you might run 30-30 cast with it. No full powder jacketed loads ideal with that powder. Your big rifles would like n135/140

My response was going to be similar.

I will add N540 is another good one for 223 and 308.

For 308, my best luck has been with N140 and N150

If memory serves, the N1 series are all single base, and the N5 series are all double base. I have a friend of mine that is really liking 530 out of his M1A.

This is typically true. I run N540 in a 24" 223 with heavier bullets and like the bump in velocity.

I’ve pretty much gone to only VV, although when I start reloading for .30-30 I plan on using LeverRevolution.

I like N320 and 3N37 for soft (320) and spicy (3n37) pistol rounds and I also have a couple pounds of N140 ready for .223 and .308. I also have N340 but haven’t shot the .40 rounds yet.

I highly recommend VV powders. They burn clean and are temp. consistant. Yes a bit more expensive but worth it. VV makes single base powders which burn at a lower temp and double based powders with a higher temp but also gives you a higher velocity.

I use N140 and N540 for .308 with very good results.

For my AR15 I need a fast powder so I use N133

N570 for my 338lm

N320 and N340 for 9mm, .357 .45 and 12GA

I've been getting very good results with N110 in 300 Blackout and also with N135 and N140 in 7.62x54R. The old Mosin Nagant seems to do really well at 100 yards with those 2 powders. I think my worst group was roughly 1.5" during a ladder with N135.

I use N120 as an alternate to I4198 and like it.

$60.00/lb though, is not a deal by any means. Unless you're saying 2 lbs is $60.00? That's pretty good.

I've used N110 for a few calibers. Generally speaking, it works wherever H110 works. However, it take lower charges, so it may not be as expensive as it first seems.

In 44mag, out of a 6" Desert Eagle, the bark and flash is very much less with N110 than it is with H110, for the same velocity. So, if you want a big fireball, N110 is NOT your powder!
