I don't see it on the Remington site under promotions?

Wal-marts in California stop selling rifles and shotguns because of errors and voilations in CA Department of Justice paper work. Maybe they weren't paying their employees enough?

Are other other Wal-marts in other states going to stop selling fiirearms????
Is that the reason for the CLEARENCE SALES?

Doubtful. They get the stuff so cheap by buying massive amounts that they can reduce inventory by dumping it for next to nothing and still make a profit.

CA...that's its own case. I fully expect stores there to soon be banned from selling sharp objects, then anything you can hurt yourself with, period.

Aren't they cheap knockoffs of great guns like the remington 700 boltactions boltactions

Were you abused as a child by a bolt action? Your other post states you want a great all-around deer rifle in something OTHER than a bolt. Why?

Mossberg 835 Ulti-Mag -- 3.5" chamber

I bought a Mossberg 835 Ulti-Mag at Wal-Mart for $100. Did I get a good deal or are others getting them even cheaper? Is it a decent gun?

Thanks

How can you shop at Walmart? They are evil!! The reason they can sell stuff cheap is because they are shoddy products. At my store we do TV repair. You would not believe the number of people who come into our store with TV's bought at Walmart that break down within the first 5 days. Walmart calls the TV makers & tells them they want a TV that they can sell for such & such amount of money. Then the maker starts taking parts out of the TV such as filters, chips, etc. Walmart is the enemy of the people. You guys can shop where you want, but think about this. Once Walmart closes the competition, they will be able to make you pay whatever they want for whatever you want. I shop at Target & online sites. That's what I reccomend.

Extras from other stores....

I live in Louisiana. From what I was told the influx of guns from Wal-marts that were closed due to the two storms that hit us has caused prices to drop here. They are trying to get rid of them as quickly as they can.

I understand about the hurt big stores put on the smaller dealers. But, when you are one father providing for four people that hunt and shoot I have to go where the price is right. However, for handguns I go to my old buddy who has treated me swell in that area. I have purchased several from him this year. Also, by word of mouth he credits me directly with at least 6 other handgun sells.

That's fairly common in several industries. Common enough that we studied it as an accounting phenomenon over 10 years ago (from both sides).

I shop at Target
Good luck getting anything gun related there.

Chris

I didn't say I bought guns at Target. I buy stuff like clothes at Target. My gun store is 50.67 miles away. I have to drive up through that area anyway because there is a place where I get a lot of my store products. But I don't mind because I know what evil Walmart is.

The only reason I hate bolt action is that right handed bolt action is harder to use than say a right handed lever action using my left hand. However if you can find a leftie bolt action than there great, usually.

(Wishes there I could find a left handed Springfield 1903 or a left handed Mauser 98 :( )

I don't buy anything else there, because it's mostly crap and is made in China, yes. Even all their flag junk is made in China.

But a Remington 870 is a Remington, made in the USA. And who else in most areas has cheap shotgun ammo and whitebox range ammo?

A lot of gun stores here seem to be open only three days a week from something like 10-4 and closed on weekends, so unless you're retired, you're out of luck.

Southern Shooter,

$100.00 <gulps> <stares at screen> <gets up and bangs head on wall>

I'm not even gonna admit what I paid, but let's just say it was a bit more. I love mine, but I couldn't touch that price around here.

I work for a living too so I'm not just some rich guy goofing off all day. I just know from experience the damage Walmart does to us little guys who can't sell stuff that cheap. You guys just prove my point that people are price blind. All you see is price. Not quality, not the betrayal of the little guy.

Like I said, I only buy ammo there, and it's out of necessity. ALL the other sporting-goods stores in the entire area have gone entirely appease-the-blissninnys and don't have anything but airsoft toys anymore, and they keep hiding those, even, further and further back.

And if the gun stores around are only open Tue-Wed-Thurs from 10-4, and I work, where am I going to get range ammo?

If that's truly the case I suppose you might need to visit the big W. Just try not buy anything else there if you can. I know they have cheap prices now. I know that a lot of them are open 24 hours a day. I also know that you won't have any trouble finding a Walmart. Sorry if I got in anyone's face.
